Users quoting one another

I'm finding it difficult to follow threads where people quote one another constantly. So, two posters start bickering and quoting one another and then messages contain 5/10/20 embedded messages. Makes threads unreadable.

When I was first here the name of the person you were quoting was in bold. The quote was in italics.

At least I'm fairly certain it was that was round.
It possibly changed when the @ feature came in.

Like this? I agree. I'd also like to see a return of putting a child's age in brackets if it's relevant. Not just after the abbreviations.

Was it italics? I could've sworn it was bold Blush

Disagree. It happens. A discussion starts, people join in, smaller conversations open up within that and so it is. Nothing unusual or complicated about it. The having to copy, paste, bold etc was a terrific bore.

I'm aware it happens, that's why I started this thread.

The endless regurgitation of the same text in embedded quotes is just tedious to me.

I Agree. But all that will happen now is people will quote quotes for as long as they can on this thread.
