Can we have a specific stillbirth and neonatal death board
All the miscarriage posts seem to be early loss and bereavement feels to be adult bereavement.

What about the babies who never had a chance to just be?

I think this is an excellent idea for a new board.

Flowers for anyone who needs to use it.

catchingzzzeds · 19/04/2022 08:26

I'm surprised there already isn't such a board, totally agree it's needed

cherrypiepie · 19/04/2022 08:23

Yes - I agree saddened there isn't one already

Hollyhead · 19/04/2022 08:22

Absolutely support this, and if you’re looking for a board to ditch to keep the number of boards down surely ‘birth announcements’ ‘tattoos’ ‘nurseries’ or ‘baby names’ are all low use contenders that could be phased out or merged somewhere else?

Brunonononooo · 19/04/2022 08:21

I support this

Supporting Thanks

HijHij · 19/04/2022 08:11

thank you all so far for the support. it is sad there is call for a board such as this, but think how many parents could find support when nowhere else is open too.

thank you

@DawnMumsnet

Hi *@HijHij*,

Thanks for starting this thread. In general we've been trying to pare down the number of topics on our Talkboards, but we completely understand your reasons for wanting a specific place to post about this. We're so sorry for what you've been through, OP. Flowers

We'll be watching this thread to see how much support there is and will be discussing it with the rest of the team this coming week.

thank you so much for listening.

I would 100% support this

Appleseesaw · 18/04/2022 22:07

I support this.

RussianSpy101 · 18/04/2022 22:06

I would support this.

Graphista · 18/04/2022 22:05

I support this

I haven't been through a loss like this personally but I know people who have and I think it's a much needed space

Emiliasmummy · 18/04/2022 19:50

I support this too.

DramaAlpaca · 18/04/2022 19:48

Adding my support

Rrrunrunrunrunrun · 18/04/2022 19:48

I would support a bereaved parent board. Dd was 13 months when she died, and I don’t fit into miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death groups, but equally find the bereavement board is mainly loss of parents or adult children. Losing a baby or young child feels so alien on here.

WeDontShutUpAboutBruno · 18/04/2022 19:34

I think many of us post in bereavement, but it would be better to have a bereaved parent board, I'm just thinking of the many posters who have older children who have died and what an amazing support they are to all of us who have had our children die shortly before, or after their birth.

Being a bereaved parent is very different to anything else, so if there was a board I would, personally, want it to include all bereaved parents.

drinkingwineoutofamug · 18/04/2022 19:31

@PortiaFimbriata

I've experienced an early miscarriage and would support a specific board for women who've suffered a stillbirth or neonatal death. It's not the same.
Came to say this as well
Littlegoth · 18/04/2022 19:26

I support this

Littlebelina · 18/04/2022 19:25

Me too. I had an ectopic and a neonatal loss and they were vastly different experiences and need different support

flashbac · 18/04/2022 19:19

@PegasusReturns

I would support this. And I would also like to second the call for room for late miscarriages

Yes. Whisky it’s not helpful to draw lines there is a huge e difference in experience of those who have to deliver their DC and bury them and those that don’t.

Yes.
