Active not working

numberthirtytwowindsorgardens · 15/03/2022 10:34

@mnhq

Every time I try to go to active (whether through saved links or through Google), I get the attached page. I've tried clearing cookies as per Justine's advice on another thread, but no change.

Can you advise? I'm using Samsung Internet on an android phone.

I'll just say I had this the other day and then it fixed itself randomly.i didn't clear cookies or do anything.

KatyMumsnet · 16/03/2022 17:17

Hi,

We've just put a fix in place that will hopefully get you back on to active. Can you try going to the active URL and let me know if it's working/still has issues?

Thanks!

dementedpixie · 16/03/2022 15:46

I've managed to get access by using Chrome rather than Samsung Internet

KatyMumsnet · 16/03/2022 10:24

@DiamondSnow it will be fixed when we move to the new website. We'll be able to let you know when that will be soon.

For now, if you want to access active I'd suggest switching to another browser.

DiamondSnow · 16/03/2022 10:11

Same issue here. Please let us know once it is fixed as I really don't want to delete data from all websites!

KatyMumsnet · 16/03/2022 09:50

Hi,

That has confirmed the issue thank you @piratehooker

When we switched over to the new website the active link changed and your browsers have stored it as the current URL so that when you go to active now it takes you to a URL that doesn't exist at the moment.

To fix this you'll have to delete all the data from your browser, here are instructions on how to do that: www.samsung.com/au/support/mobile-devices/how-to-remove-cache-and-data-of-your-browser/

Doing this will clear all the data from other websites you use on that browser too, so it might not be the best option for you.

As it's a temporary issue that will be solved when we do update the website in the next week or so - you might want to switch to another browser for now.

Really sorry about this - we know it's not ideal and we a really grateful for your patience!

piratehooker · 16/03/2022 09:37

www.mumsnet.com/talk/active

Accessed by clicking the 'Active' link at the top of the page, next to 'I'm On', etc.

KatyMumsnet · 16/03/2022 09:16

Hi, could someone share the URL or a screenshot of the URL you land on when you go to active and it doesn't work?

We think your browsers have stored the redirect URL so it's taking you to a page that doesn't exist. If I can see the URL I can confirm that.

Thanks!

Poppins2016 · 15/03/2022 23:42

Just chiming in to echo/back up what previous posters have said... Samsung phone/Samsung internet browser.

BuanoKubiamVej · 15/03/2022 23:19

I have cleared cookies and cleared cache too and still can't load active conversations.
Samsung phone, chrome browser too.

FlowerArranger · 15/03/2022 19:52
@KatyMumsnet I've just cleared my cookies, cache etc and still can't get active to work. In also chrome browser on a Samsung
Same here

KatyMumsnet · 15/03/2022 17:30

Sorry to hear you’re still having issues - and also sorry for the inconvenience of the site not working as expected.

We’ll have to investigate this further and get back to you. You should be able to access the site via an incognito/private browser or a different browser while we figure this out.

Thanks for your patience!

Slowturtle · 15/03/2022 17:20

@KatyMumsnet I've just cleared my cookies, cache etc and still can't get active to work. In also chrome browser on a Samsung

user1471530109 · 15/03/2022 16:57

Surely we don't have to all log in again? I have no idea of my password.

I couldn't get on at all this morning. I'm a bit disappointed there are still issues. I understand that you're all working on it. But why not revert back to when it was working last night, whilst you tinker with the issues?

can you tell I've had a shit day and am feeling really crap too

piratehooker · 15/03/2022 14:44

Same... cookies and cache cleared, still error showing for Active Conversations. Incognito working though. Chrome, Windows 10.

ClaudineClare · 15/03/2022 14:37

@Nosnogginginthekitchen

clearing cookies didn't work, incognito browser seems to
Same here.
KatyMumsnet · 15/03/2022 14:21

Hey, if incognito works then it's most likely there is still an issue with cookies or cache on the main browser. When you cleared cookies - did you also clear cache?

If you accessed the active page during the period when the new site was live or you have a bookmark then it's likely that your browser has stored some information that means it's trying to redirect you to a page that doesn't exist rather than the actual page.
