Hi all, and sorry for the inconvenience. This is the second week we've had problems - it's because we had periods of high traffic which put stress on our infrastructure.

To resolve this we've commissioned an additional server. It's online now so things should improve. Please do continue to let us know if you experience further issues with the site. Flowers

They were both silly gossip forums (a bit embarrassed I was on there) and no, they didn't charge membership. They were those typical free-to-use bulletin board style forums that were popular in the 2000-2010s.

@User594022452 - do you mind me asking, those other forums that you used to be part of that ended up closing without warning, did they charge membership? Did you have to pay to use them or part of them? If you did, did you get any money back when they ceased operation?

I‘m guessing the servers may no longer be capable of handling the surge in traffic which peaks on weekends/Saturdays. This didn‘t bode well for several forums I used to be part of and they ended up closing without warning.

I'd also like an answer.

First it was a DDoS attack
Last week was new code / testing issues
Yesterday - no explanation.

It would be nice to get a response, it seems quite odd it's happening every Saturday now.

I echo what the others have said, it would be good to know why this keeps happening and why MNHQ weren’t being more proactive about providing info last night?! Since Jeffrey we have consistently fed back that mnhq could be better at telling us what’s going on, please.

I could not access mn hardly at all yesterday afternoon/evening though, but it does seem much better for me this morning 🙂

It's happening too often, I need an alternative site for back up when I'm bored. Just can't sit here twiddling my thumbs.

Exactly what I was about to ask. It's fine now but this is happening weekly and as a PP said sure once was DDOS attack but that doesn't explain why every week the site is going down.

We resolved these as quickly as we could, and all should be working as normal now. Please can you let us know if this isn't the case?

Nope it's not you, it's a site issue.

The last 3 weekends have been continuous error messages. First it was attributed to a DDoS attack, last week it was apparently new code / testing issues. No idea what the reason for this weeks is as MNHQ haven't responded yet.

I used to be part of two other forums where this same error message started cropping up with increasing frequency.

With one forum it happened over relatively long time period, at least 1-2 years and the site closed down overnight with no warning to users. There was only a message stating they had too many unpaid server/hosting fees.

The other forum displaying the same error also shut down abruptly some time after these messages started cropping up.

I can't quite decide if there's no response on any of the threads regarding this issue as once again this is happening at a weekend or if there is no response because this is now such a regular occurrence MN doesn't think it noteworthy of a response.

Same here, chrome on an android phone. Happens most evenings. I'm going to end up reading tattle at this rate.
