I signed up to Premium pretty much straight away, and it was all fine, but I've just noticed I am getting ads again, including ones suggesting I sign up to Premium Hmm any idea why this is happening? I know the payment went out a couple of days ago so my subscription should still be live.

I can see sponsored by Mumsnet ads sometimes at the top of the page. They aren't always there. Also mumsnet insight ads (never more than 3) in the side panel.

They are unobtrusive and don't bother me. Also, I don't get the jerking and jumping and loading difficulties that I used to get on my ipad even when I was using Adblocker, so I'm happy.

heartsonacake · 15/05/2020 17:38

DebbieFiderer Of course you’re still getting ads. Mumsnet Premium was advertised as fewer ads, not no ads.

PickwickThePlockingDodo · 15/05/2020 15:44

FEWER ads of course 🤣

helloPig · 15/05/2020 15:18

*paying

helloPig · 15/05/2020 15:17

wait, so premium members will still see the banner ads for the premium subscription?

how does this make any sense at all? what are those laying for Premium actually getting for their money?

JoMumsnet · 15/05/2020 11:46

Hi again @DebbieFiderer,

Thanks very much for the screenshot.

Have checked with the team and they've confirmed that Premium subscribers will still be seeing MN discount ads like this one, but not the banner ads. Please let us know if you're seeing any of those.

DebbieFiderer · 15/05/2020 10:51

Hi @DebbieFiderer - how are things looking this morning? Please let us know if you're still seeing these ads. We haven't had any other reports about it this morning, so hopefully all is well.

DebbieFiderer · 14/05/2020 18:25

Spoke too soon 😭

Thanks for letting us know, @BoreOfWhabylon.

BoreOfWhabylon · 14/05/2020 14:32

Mine is still ok @JoMumsnet

JoMumsnet · 14/05/2020 14:27

Hi @homemadecommunistrussia - we're sorry to hear that. Are they still showing up now?

And is anyone else still having problems?

homemadecommunistrussia · 14/05/2020 12:38

It did seem to be better for a while, but the ads are back.Sad

LockedInMadness · 14/05/2020 12:30

we're working with them to get a fix in place as a matter of urgency.

Probably in time for mners next yearly payment 🤣l

BoreOfWhabylon · 14/05/2020 10:46

Well, looks like it's been fixed now.

donquixotedelamancha · 14/05/2020 09:46

Thanks for bearing with us and we'll let you know as soon as the issue is resolved.

I've been on here barely a decade, so haven't really had chance, but have any of the old timers ever had an issue resolved?

Pinkyyy · 14/05/2020 09:44

That's awful. It's already very poor value for money, now you're not even getting the small thing they promised? Disgraceful.

donquixotedelamancha · 14/05/2020 09:40

On a serious note I wonder if they employ testers or use a bug tracking database to maintain the quality of the site.

Pretty sure we are the bug testers. I understand they have a comprehensive database detailing every bug reported. I believe they are currently working on fixing those logged up to and including the 12th of January 2000.

JoMumsnet · 14/05/2020 09:34

Thank you to all who have emailed and posted to let us know. We're really sorry for this temporary glitch.

We've investigated and it looks like the problem is with our hosting provider - we're working with them to get a fix in place as a matter of urgency.

Thanks for bearing with us and we'll let you know as soon as the issue is resolved. Flowers

SeriouslyRetro · 14/05/2020 09:28

Indeed Tiny We all know the drill, someone might (or might not) turn up from mumsnet and act all faux concerned and say they’ll get tech to look into it right away.

I’m not sure what looking into it actually entails for the mumsnet tech team, but lots of things seem to get looked at and not a lot else.

DappledThings · 14/05/2020 08:42

Me too. I've started getting ads in the middle of threads again again and it is irritating to see the one for Premium when I am already signed up.

Cherrypi · 14/05/2020 08:38

I'm disappointed to get ads back too.

DrDreReturns · 14/05/2020 08:35

I'm amazed to see technical problems with the premium service. Everything else is usually so smooth and bug free.

Is that sarcasm Grin

On a serious note I wonder if they employ testers or use a bug tracking database to maintain the quality of the site.

TinySleepThief · 14/05/2020 08:22

That honestly doesn't suprise me, norhing works for long on this site without issues.

I'm sure MN will be along shortly and say their techs will look into it. (Although sometimes I do wonder if this is code for they will go and have a cup of coffee and a chocolate biscuit and hope you forget about it).
