@FlibbertyGiblets - good on you. Come and join us in the "We're not the thread police" naughty corner.

I expect the "naughty corner" is also a MN no-no

FlibbertyGiblets · 09/01/2020 13:28

katzenellenbogen me too. I'm not the Thread Police either and should Know Better and anyway if I don't like it I should just Go Away. Alrighty then.

katzenellenbogen · 09/01/2020 13:13

I have posted before asking whether it is possible for all the things that so blatantly aren't an AIBU question to be moved into their appropriate topics.

Anyway, apparently I was being very unreasonable to ask this, and I am not the thread police.

I am off to stand in the naughty corner with @Sparklingbrook

PortiaCastis · 09/01/2020 13:00

Why cant threads about the Royal Family vile or not vile be put into the correct topic, it seems very odd that they're not

FlibbertyGiblets · 09/01/2020 12:59

We live in hope.

Sparklingbrook · 09/01/2020 12:32

Hopefully by the end of today maximum froth will have been reached, everyone will have got everything off their chest and their blood pressure will be back to normal.

FlibbertyGiblets · 09/01/2020 12:29

Many hahas Sparklers Grin

So @soniamumsnet we can conclude that
A. Topics are pointless
B. the TAAT rule is applied as when suits HQ
C. If we don't want to see threads about particular subjects the onus is on us to hide as opposed to posters posting in the appropriate area - see A
Fair enough

FlibbertyGiblets · 09/01/2020 12:23

You were handbagged! Grin

Sparklingbrook · 09/01/2020 12:17

Grin I most definitely was. I was also instructed to go and start a thread about something else. Confused

katzenellenbogen · 09/01/2020 12:16

That's you told then @sparklingbrook Grin

Sparklingbrook · 09/01/2020 12:14

Oooh no you aren't allowed to say that. I got very told off by an OP when I suggested that maybe we didn't need another thread. Shock

katzenellenbogen · 09/01/2020 12:12

Perhaps all the peope that started the threads listed above (bar one) could receive a message saying "Yes, yes you absolutely are being totally unreasonable"

a) to start another thread about this and
b) not to post in the appropriate topic

Sparklingbrook · 09/01/2020 11:51

Keep the very first thread about all this and delete every subsequent one as a TAAT. They are all exactly the same.

IfThingsComeInThreesWhyThisNow · 09/01/2020 11:49

sonia you could move them all into the Royal Family thread, you know, to make a point? Crown

Disfordarkchocolate · 09/01/2020 11:46

And don't use Megxit. Sure Harry is involved too.

Samcro · 09/01/2020 11:45

can i ask what the point of topics is?
we have a royal family one, yet its not used,

soniamumsnet · 09/01/2020 10:36

Hi, thanks so much for raising this. We know it's a pretty hot topic at the moment and lots of users want to discuss. We're keeping an eye on the running threads and will make edits, deletions and such as and when needed.

There's always the option to hide a thread too. Flowers

katzenellenbogen · 09/01/2020 10:16

Spent a lot of time hiding things this morning. Could we not have an option to "hide everything that mentions Harry or Meghan" today?

FlibbertyGiblets · 09/01/2020 10:10

Ugh.

Sparklingbrook · 09/01/2020 10:04

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/the_royal_family

Yep but not a single thread about Megxit. Better off in AIBU for maximum frothing. Hmm

FlibbertyGiblets · 09/01/2020 10:02

Is there not a Royal Fam board they can all be swept into, pretty please with a cherry on top.
