Please don't get rid of the Teenagers board

Just that really.

You'll see that a number of us are responding to the MNHQ post on the board itself, but just in case you're not checking replies there, a number of us really, really want to keep teenagers stuff away from the potty training, and parents of 6yos who think their darlings will never behave like that as teens.

OP posts:
madeyemoodysmum · 15/05/2019 22:24

Agree

avenueq · 15/05/2019 22:24

Please don't do this - teens is one of the only topics I look at. I have been here since 2003 and one of the great things about MN is how you can move through the topics as your child grows. Please don't take that away!!!

OhFFSMary · 15/05/2019 22:22

Another voice for please keep teens separate. It’s so utterly different from parenting a younger child, we need our own space to breathe and rant free from the judgment of the pre-teen parents. (Their time will come, oh yes, their time will come).

ssd · 15/05/2019 22:18

I bet whoever made this suggestion doesnt have teenagers??

Blessthekids · 15/05/2019 22:16

Please keep the board separate, pretty sure new mums don't want to be faced with teenager problems when they are suffering from lack of sleep and teething issues!

floraloctopus · 15/05/2019 22:13

Keep teenagers separate, it's a pain if you have to wade through posts about toddlers and babies to find the teenager stuff.

TheHobbitMum · 15/05/2019 22:13

I agree, it's important to have its own section

strongswans · 15/05/2019 22:12

Please keep the teens section! Don't understand how merging them would work at all!

SimplySteveRedux · 15/05/2019 22:11

Please no, it serves an immensely important audience and fills a very specific niche.

BrokenWing · 15/05/2019 22:09

Been on MN since 2004 and my ds is now a teenager! Please don't remove this board. I check/lurk here most days and post occasionally. There is usually a few posts everyday, not the busiest of boards but needed!

pasanda · 15/05/2019 22:09

Please don't do this, such a bad idea!

The question is, will mnhq listen to the 100% unanimous verdict from the users/lurkers of the teenage board?

I bloody well hope so!

jenthehen · 15/05/2019 22:06

Yes, keep teens, some of us have been on here for years, it’s our natural progression!

GetUpAgain · 15/05/2019 22:05

I lurk on it but don't often post as my DC are private and I don't want to be posting their business online. It's such a helpful board though, even if it might not seem as popular.

fikel · 15/05/2019 22:01

Don’t get rid of a much needed life line. It can be tough navigating our way through the teenage years at times

youllhavehadyourtea · 15/05/2019 22:00

Teenagers need a separate space from babies and toddlers and preschoolers etc.

As do their parents.

Come on mumsent - this is primarily a parenting site. Listen to what we , parents of teens, are saying.

Parents of babies turn into parents of teenagers. We need our own space to go to.

I'm well past the baby stage. It would do my head in to wade through posts about nappies. I dont want to be in an eternal world of baby sick and nappies, which is what is in store.

Dont take away our space!

MadisonAvenue · 15/05/2019 21:58

I agree that this needs keeping. My sons are now late teens and early twenties and, speaking from experience, the teen years present so many problems unique to that age group and the teen forum is as necessary to parents as, for instance, the pregnancy board and behaviour board.

Ledkr · 15/05/2019 21:57

Me too. It's a lifeline for some of us and there is such limited support for parents of teens.
If they merge you will get more than the usual clever clogs telling us we are crow and they would never put up with that from their 7 year olds.😔🙄

AnyFucker · 15/05/2019 21:56

Eh ?

How is this a good idea ? Confused

That board has saved my life (and that of my teens...) on many occasions

OnMyWhistle · 15/05/2019 21:54

Keep teens separate I say. I’ve been in there numerous times when navigating tricky teen issues and it’s good to have similar people all in one place.

JustLooking2019 · 15/05/2019 21:53

I agree, teenagers needs it’s own board. MN is so useful to everyone but no one wants to trawl through the posts about toddler tantrums, breastfeeding and toilet training to find the relevant posts about the almost-adults we are trying to raise. Same for those in the younger stages do not want to trawl through posts about sex, drugs and GCSEs!

Tooyoungforthisshit · 15/05/2019 21:52

I agree with everyone. Please keep the teenage board seperate!

Peridot1 · 15/05/2019 21:51

Why on Earth? Parenting teens is soooo different to parenting babies and toddlers.

Lots of sections that could be done away with completely but the Teenage board should stay.

I also agree. I really rely on that board.

fuckitywhat · 15/05/2019 21:38

Yes. Please keep it.
