There is a thread where the poster is distressed and right next to it is an advert for something related. No way is it there in a helpful way given the issue is causing distress and the OP is NOT asking for useful hints but for productive help.

No tea here!

tinytemper66 · 11/04/2019 06:47

Mine is a PPI ad

Aridane · 11/04/2019 06:46

I think everyone gets the Boho tea one (speaking as a non drinker)

sashh · 11/04/2019 06:45

I'm getting Halfords and Avon.

I did notice when the netflix MM documentary was being discussed I suddenly got a lot of adverts for Mark Warner holidays.

KooMoo · 11/04/2019 06:38

Do you know if you can get an ad blocker for iPad Grumpyoldmare

MaybeitsMaybelline · 11/04/2019 06:28

Ahhh maybe we are all getting the tea, nothing to do with the caddy?

MaybeitsMaybelline · 11/04/2019 06:26

Im getting ads for a BoHo Tea, because I bought DD a tea caddy from Betty’s. If only they knew she will only be putting Yorkshire Tea in that caddy.

No gay cruises for me!

HaventGotAllDay · 11/04/2019 06:17

I find on a specialist thread the ads can be quite specialist, irrespective of my browsing history- eg on a thread where the OP posted about cracks in her house, I got an ad for surveyors!

RevealTheLegend · 03/04/2019 22:00

I get a bazillion tea adverts.

birdsdestiny · 03/04/2019 22:00

Bloody hell you lot get gay cruises and I get a book about pyjamas. Even the internet recognises my sad life Shock

SexNotJenga · 03/04/2019 21:01

I think the gay cruise ads started turning up after I spent too much time in FWR. They're always banging on about penises and dresses over there.

Heathcliff27 · 03/04/2019 19:27

I'm now getting ads from glam candy or something like that, offering me to study the art of make up part time GrinGrin

Topseyt · 03/04/2019 13:17

I currently have ads for the new Dumbo film from Disney. I have never looked it up at all.

I have others for carpet cleaning and for walking boots, none of which I have sought out. It is pretty random.

spugzbunny · 03/04/2019 11:34

It's so bloody rude when someone posts, people take the time out to reply and clarify and then the OP doesn't come back and say 'oh thanks! My mistake, I didn't realise. Thank you for all your help'

LarryGreysonsDoor · 03/04/2019 10:40

I'm getting ads suggesting I might want to go to a trade fair in Munich of German construction industry equipment.

Namechangeforthiscancershit · 03/04/2019 10:38

Fermats do it! I'll have the sun lounger next to you!

Bluntness100 · 03/04/2019 10:25

Starting to wonder if the op has scarpered 🤣🤣🤣

Notthatsimple · 03/04/2019 09:19

I don’t own a dog.

Come on MNHQ, this is off and unkind
drspouse · 03/04/2019 09:16

I've been getting them too, I can only suppose after reading two homophobia threads.

FermatsTheorem · 03/04/2019 09:14

I've been getting ads for gay cruises (as in, single-sex, men-only cruises aimed at gay men) for months now. God only knows what I clicked on to put me in that demographic group according to the ad server's algorithms.

I'm almost tempted to apply - sun, sea, sangria, surrounded (if the ads are anything to go by) by handsome young men clearly having a lovely time. What's not to like?

Of course the young men might not feel the same way at the sight of plump, middle-aged, menopausal me reclining on a sun-lounger in a manner strangely reminiscent of a beached whale, clutching my sangria (complete with little parasol) and smiling in what I hoped was a benevolent way...

However, that said, I believe MN can do something - if you take a screen shot and email it to them, I believe they can ask the ad serving company to block the ad in question from showing up on their site.
