Mumsnet not working on safari on iPad?

I can open the site but can't click on any thread, on 'I'm watching' or, basically do anything.
Is it my problem or a site problem?

Not working any better for me.

I miss "trending".

I hate to sound too enthusiastic about this, because it'll probably be the kiss of death, but - somehow - it's working OK now on my iPad!

Whattheduck · 02/11/2018 23:03

Same here on my I pad it keeps freezing and can't scrolll through threads so frustrating as I want to have a look at the christmas threads but getting fed up with it.It's happening on my I phone too

IdahoCrow · 02/11/2018 12:44

I'm not using an i-pad and things are bad. It's the site, probably. Especially if sub-menu links aren't functioning.

zen1 · 02/11/2018 12:36

Just seen this thread. I am having the same problem on two older iPads (iPad 2 and 3) - constant screen freezing, unable to click on threads etc. One of them is no longer updateable on iOS software, so I thought it might be something to do with that. However, newer iPad (air 2) has had no problems at all. I’ve noticed Safari glitches lots of sites, but when I’ve downloaded the Google Chrome app and searched sites using that, some problems have resolved.

IdahoCrow · 02/11/2018 12:34

I agree things are getting worse than ever.

Missing functions.
Broken links and sub-menus.
Slow to load.

I run a website and this is BASIC stuff.

BoreOfWhabylon · 02/11/2018 12:26

@MNHQ the problems accessing the desktop site via ipad safari have been going on intermittently for years now. I have posted many times about this. Every time MNHQ's response is 'Gosh, so sorry, cannot replicate'. It's always a complete surprise, with no acknowledgement of the ongoing problems.

Like others, I am finding MN just about inpossible to use at the moment due to severe lag when clicking on anything or trying to post..

@BitOfFun I'm so sorry to hear your news, lovely. Big unmumsnetty hugs to you (((BOF))) Flowers

StealthNinjaMum · 02/11/2018 11:58

I'm doing more housework at the moment because of this Sad

AnyaaaaaaaaaaaarghMumsnet · 02/11/2018 11:42

Hi again everyone,

So sorry to hear our fix doesn't seem to have worked, and again, thanks for your patience while we've been trying to get this sorted.

We've let tech know so will keep you updated with what they come back with.

Jackyjill6 · 01/11/2018 22:46

Has been really bad today,
But why is it different during the early hours as a previous poster and I have posted?
LIke others have said, I am doing a lot more book reading which is positive!

Redcrayons · 01/11/2018 21:53

No better for me. Just downloaded chrome thinking it might be a safari issue, but that’s the same.

salsamad · 01/11/2018 21:25

Still exactly the same for me and it's so bloody frustrating.
When you say you've released a fix what exactly does this mean @MNHQ - is this something we need to download to use on our iPads to enable us to use the site?

NanTheWiser · 01/11/2018 21:24

I thought it had been sorted earlier, but NO! Just frozen on me again.
Tech needs to have a rethink...

PinkBuffalo · 01/11/2018 21:05

It's been really bad for me today. Can barely access the site. I miss being able to browse MN Sad

MountainPony · 01/11/2018 19:40

Still freezing here

vjg13 · 01/11/2018 18:40

Still freezing here too.

SuperSuperSuper · 01/11/2018 18:38

It hasn't improved, unfortunately.

I'm using MN far less now. On the plus side, I'm doing a lot more reading!

ClosdesMouches · 01/11/2018 17:24

Do any of you see a big red ad trying to load at the same time Safari freezes?

AristotlesTrousers · 01/11/2018 17:05

Yup, still freezing here too.

Knicknackpaddyflak · 01/11/2018 16:59

Unfortunately it was still freezing frequently for me on ipad this morning.

ClosdesMouches · 01/11/2018 16:20

Just to add further, I've been browsing using Safari and I'm certain it's the Virgin trains ad that loads on the right hand side of the page which is problematic for me. There's a banner one too at the top but the page loads and runs fine when it's there. As soon as the big one on the right tries to load the page just hangs.

ClosdesMouches · 01/11/2018 16:04

Not sure if I should start another thread or if my issue is similar enough to stay on this thread.

Safari on Macbook Air has been doing exactly what the ipad users are describing, been like this for a few weeks now.
I thought the update to MacOs Mojave may resolve it but it didn't.

An ad for Virgin trains seems particularly to cause the problem

Using Chrome right now instead of Safari, but have visited MN much less often because of this situation.

AnyaaaaaaaaaaaarghMumsnet · 01/11/2018 11:18

Hi everyone, and thank you so much for your patience while we've been looking into this - we know it's taken a while.

We're really sorry to hear about your illness at MNHQ @BitOfFun Flowers

We tracked down an issue with the ads that may have been causing some of the problems with Safari on iPad. We released a fix yesterday. Do let us know if you see any improvements, or if we need to keep trying.

iwantavuvezela · 01/11/2018 10:56

I still cannot access mumsnet via my ipad either going online or via the App - both dont work, just freeze, or cant scroll - is there any update on why this is happening?

StealthNinjaMum · 31/10/2018 18:30

This is driving me potty too. It seems to happen at busy times so I am virtually unable to use mumsnet on my iPad most evenings yet for the last couple of evenings I've been awake at 1 / 2 and it's been ok. The constant slowing and freezing has put me off using mums net.
