Post deletions but MNHQ not against talk guidelines?

Hi MNHQ

I have posted twice on a thread to ask for clarification around talk guidelines - my post has simply asked how come so many posts are being deleted which don’t seem to contravene guidelines... except those posts are being deleted too.

Please can you clarify what is breaking talk guidelines?

The thread is this, and at the moment posters are just saying which accounts they like - nothing controversial or inflammatory

Yes it does seem to be a bit trigger happy regarding certain people.

It's a bit like SWMNBN again....

What with this and the removing posts with no trace (no deletion message) MNHQ need to have a look at their moderation policy.

I think it would be VERY helpful for some clear guidance on this and it to be applied consistently. There are opinions on other IGers on my thread whichhavd not been deleted but one particular one seems to be above others. While I appreciate that the thread was being derailed I personally think that came directly from people specifically seeking out that thread to post abuse without reading the thread.

I was personally attacked once and reported the comments. They left me feeling very upset (yes I have mental health problems too) and MNHQ refused to remove them, they were reported by other users as well as bullying and the response was that they were within chat guidelines. I myself have had comments removed that were far less personal and direct. I imagine that due to high traffic volumes and a recent suicide attempt they have made a decision to delete anything associated with certain accounts.

I asked mnhq to look at a dodgy thread once. They agreed then when i checked they had deleted one of my posts as a personal attack but left 2 posts personally attacking me. So their moderation seems personal and strange.

There were no personal attacks on that thread, no bullying. Why was discussion censored? Are we not allowed to discuss individual Instagram accounts now unless it's positive? Do the same rules apply to Teresa May or Katie Price? If not why not? If things are happening on instagram that warrant discussion why can we not discuss? Does the same apply to current affairs? It's all very murky and I really thought opinions were welcome on here as long as they meet guidelines. This is depressing mumsnet.

MNHQ I posted making the point that if you were going to take down posts simply mentioning an instagrammer's name (NOT a personal attack), then this should be added to talk guidelines. You messaged me ticking me off for having several posts contravening talk guidelines when NONE of my posts were personal attacks. I hadn't even seen you'd posted on the thread til after you sent me that message telling me off!

I just had another post deleted. It said "Jesus." That was all. Just - "jesus". How is THAT against talk guidelines?

Why are you being so tap happy with the deletions on that thread? And why are you deleting messages asking for clarification on this new rule you seem to have arbitrarily introduced?
