Could we please have a gynae/women's health section?

I was surprised to find recently when wanting to start a thread on issues surrounding difficulty getting referrals/diagnosis that there isn't a women's health/gynae section.

I know there's a 'family planning' section but many gynae issues cause infertility/inability to stay pregnant so people with these issues may not want to be dealing with seeing that title or using that section?

Plus there's so much more to women's health than pregnancy/fertility.

"I know there's a 'family planning' section but many gynae issues cause infertility/inability to stay pregnant so people with these issues may not want to be dealing with seeing that title or using that section?"

Point of detail:

That section is for contraception (as in FPA)

There are already topics 'Infertility' and 'Pregnancy Loss' loss (with those titles, I think), plus Pregnancy Choices' (support for termination)

And 'Conception', 'Pregnancy', 'Antenatal Tests', 'Childbirth' 'Ante and Postnatal Depression', 'Postnatal Health' and 'Menopause'

Cancers, including female ones, have well established threads in 'General Health' and 'Life-limiting Illness'

So it seems there isn't a catch-all female health topic, because there is already greater depth in the multitude of female health topics.

Yes please to the topic.

By sheer coincidence I'm currently lying in a very weird position on my bed. Think I've slipped a disc again (would be 4th time). Very much a lower back thing.

So now people are wondering what this has to do with gynae - well I have endo on my spine.

As much as possible has been removed and the remainder treated medically.

But I'm curious - could this make me more prone to things like slipped discs? No dr has ever been willing to answer this question.

CatONineTails · 07/06/2018 22:53

Yes definitely! This is a topic that absolutely needs to exist.

ladyandthechocolate · 07/06/2018 22:52

@graphista I’m essentially a women’s health physio (but I see men too). I specialise in the management of incontinence, prolapse and pelvic pain.

DwangelaForever · 07/06/2018 22:52

Yes!

AllBellyandBoobs · 07/06/2018 22:49

cakeandwine · 07/06/2018 22:46

Yes, absolutely

Graphista · 07/06/2018 22:44

I’m a pelvic health physiotherapist and am happy to answer any related problems you have Smile

Alwaysrushingaround · 07/06/2018 22:34

Yes please for this important topic. I've never felt so relieved yet at the same time so sad reading the current thread on periods. So much unnecessary suffering that women have lived with believing it to be normal.. Sad

catsofa · 07/06/2018 21:12

YES! Yes yes yes please do this, its so needed. There's a thread in active right now about unexpected period symptoms which really shows the need for more sharing of experience of women's health.

Ilikesweetpeas · 07/06/2018 20:00

I’d find this a helpful topic, good idea OP

That's a great idea. Do it!

TammySwansonTwo · 07/06/2018 18:03

Definitely - the majority of women will experience gynae problems at some point in their life, I definitely think it warrants its own topic. Thanks for making the suggestion @Graphista

PalePinkSwan · 07/06/2018 17:48

Yes definitely.

KitXi · 07/06/2018 17:47

Yes please. I currently have gynae issues that are nothing to do with fertility, and could do with a chat about them!

Hamandcheesebaguette · 07/06/2018 17:44

Yes please!
