When did this start appearing instead of the time you posted?

I agree with JaneJeffer, the time is much easier Smile

JaneJeffer · 30/05/2018 13:39

I think the time is easier to understand. Say it's 11.18 and the post says 32 minutes ago what time was that? Come on, quickly!

Hey guys, we've had this running for the last few months. We implemented it to help make the posts more readable.

Research shows that something like Just now is much easier to quickly understand than the full 30 Dec 2018, 11:15.

We've tried to strike a balance between being informative and being easy to read, similar to other apps like Twitter, Facebook and messages.

What do you think?

Tiredmumno1 · 29/05/2018 16:23

I only found it slightly annoying RunMummyRun because it also comes up with 7 minutes ago or 51 minutes ago (example). Sometimes I have a quick glance of the time of the last post, so if I go off for a bit then I just remember the time, but when it comes up like that it makes it more difficult to know where in the thread I am.

I realise I probably just confused everyone, it made more sense in my head Grin.

Thanks Fliss and Lorna

Does it matter? 'Just now' is a second or two...then gone forever

BeyondSceptical · 29/05/2018 11:04

Doesn't do it in safari

Hello!

We're just waiting to hear back from our app developers about this - hopefully we'll have updates for you soon!

AnneOfCleavage · 27/05/2018 22:03

TBH if doesn't particularly bother me but I did notice it happening a while ago.

AnneOfCleavage · 27/05/2018 22:02

Aw thanks Fliss Grin
Have just checked pc and it doesn't happen on there at all just the normal exact time a post was sent.

Seems to be an app issue or at least on iPhones and iPads as that is what I use.

Hippobottymus · 27/05/2018 21:14

I've always had this on my iPhone!

JaneJeffer · 27/05/2018 21:14

So it's fine on my phone.

Thanks for the screenshot Tiredmumno1 - we'll pass that on and see what they make of it over in Tech

AnneOfCleavage - excellent name btw and do let us know whether it happens on your pc or not.

AnneOfCleavage · 27/05/2018 20:43

Yes, it's been like this for ages for me and I use iPad and iPhone to mumsnet mostly. Not sure on pc but will check later. It only does a time when it's been over an hour.

Tiredmumno1 · 27/05/2018 20:28

Great, thanks Fliss SmileThanks

Tiredmumno1 · 27/05/2018 20:27

Here you go.

FlissMumsnet · 27/05/2018 20:27

Thanks Tiredmumno1 - sounds like we might need to run this past our tech lot.

Anyone else having the same problem?

Tiredmumno1 · 27/05/2018 20:25

The same thing happens on mine Fliss, I am also using the app on an iPad.

I just thought it was a new thing, even though it is really annoying.

FlissMumsnet · 27/05/2018 20:17

JaneJeffer - sorry that's happening; would you let us know what device you're using and (if you can) log in and try from a different one and see if that problem disappears?

WeAllLiveInACoffeeMachine · 27/05/2018 12:37

No but then I don't have the app

WeAllLiveInACoffeeMachine · 27/05/2018 12:36

Testing as well

JaneJeffer · 27/05/2018 12:35
