Can we start a ‘medics corner’ to the list of topics?

Thought it would be useful to have this....think there is something similar for teachers on here

Potential topics could be employment issues, people looking for opinions/advice on junior doctor issues, bullying, flexible working, work/life balance as a medic and a parent ....the list is endless!

Great idea!

ZivaDiva · 02/04/2018 21:23

I think admin and other none registered NHS folk should be included, I know I couldn’t do my job without their support. They are part of the team.

olympicsrock · 02/04/2018 21:14

Yes - the HCPs’ Mess

FlashTheSloth · 02/04/2018 21:13

"Would you also allow us nhs and gp admin folk?" I was wondering this too. Are we not also part of healthcare?

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 02/04/2018 21:11

Yep lots of us aren’t on FB for professional reasons.

cupoflemontea · 02/04/2018 21:08

@Helspopje I'm not on FB ironically because I'm an HCP! For privacy reasons.

@Helspopje but OP and the others want it on here. The fact that there are others is irrelevant.

HopelesslydevotedtoGu · 02/04/2018 21:01

I'd definitely be interested in this board. I think there are lots of hcps on Mumsnet, certainly several pop up on any "aibu my GP is shit" threads, it would be nice to have a calmer place to talk together

Helspopje · 02/04/2018 20:59

There are tonnes of these as publix and non public fora already

Dnuk
Pgmuk on fb
Medlic mums massive on fb

Iloveteaandcake · 02/04/2018 20:57

I reckon if it’s put under ‘ work’ and called HCP corner, it should be fairly self explanatory that it’s not a forum for health advice.

Hand up!

cupoflemontea · 02/04/2018 18:46

Or just make it policy to move threads asking for advice?

BertieBotts · 02/04/2018 18:44

Make it auto hide/opt-in, like the SN boards. Otherwise folk will come on and ask for advice. And maybe have a policy to delete any threads asking for medical advice.

Iloveteaandcake · 02/04/2018 18:39

Think putting it under Work is a good idea

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 02/04/2018 18:31

Great idea Smile.

Toddlerteaplease · 02/04/2018 18:28

I'm a nurse. Great idea. But no medical advice!

YassQueen · 02/04/2018 18:25

I'd love it to include other NHS staff (I'm classed as "frontline" but not a registered HCP and not admin either, that weird grey area Grin ) but if it would be preferred to just be registered HCPs that's understandable.

alltopot · 02/04/2018 18:21

Would you also allow us nhs and gp admin folk? You know - the horrible, obstructive "gatekeepers" 🙄

MrsJoshDun · 02/04/2018 18:17

I like HCP corner.

cupoflemontea · 02/04/2018 18:12

I think 'HCPs' know that they'd be understood in that corner. So I'd expect to see HCAs, pharmacists, nurse, physio, GP etc. Front line clinical staff.

It'd sort of be implicit wouldn't it? If you understand the club, it's because you're a member of the club!

impostersyndrome · 02/04/2018 18:11

Put it in Work, as that’s where Academics corner is; though we still get the odd query about education, it’s rare.

fitbitbore · 02/04/2018 18:09

Sounds good!
