Deletions due to being discussed elsewhere

Hi

I was wondering if this is going to be the case for all posts now? Can they be deleted just because they’re discussed elsewhere?

It’s a public forum of course all posts might be discussed elsewhere, that’s the risk you take when you post online.

Why doesn’t this happen when people’s threads end up on Facebook/twitter pages dedicated to slating MN users? Not to mention the scummy journos who lift entire threads on here but MNHQ are happy to keep them?

I thought you didn’t delete threads unless against guidelines etc? Is this going to be a new guideline? Must not be discussed on certain forums?

If usual is on this thread under another name you best keep it quiet. That would earn you a ban. I suppose you could always join reddit instead.

Weebo · 15/11/2017 18:47

Oi, usual I never said I didn't have time to read your wee threads!

'Course I do.

paxillin · 15/11/2017 18:44

There's royalty here? Haven't heard that one hurled about lately Crown.

But you could troll hunt the other place and post your findings here and vice versa, Farse. That's not against the rules, is it? Grin

Weebo · 15/11/2017 18:41

Oh, Trolly McTrollface absolutely squirmed.

Squeaking about being doxxed and how could MNHQ possibly allow such a thing to happen? The thread is only still here because of MN royalty etc, etc...

They were positively outraged.

paxillin · 15/11/2017 18:40

I'm obviously not troll-hunting, that's against the rules. Phew, I thought I'm surrounded by baddies.

FarseAboutAce · 15/11/2017 18:38

Crispy, you wouldn't believe me if I did. Quite rightly; I could be making it all up, and even if I told the truth it would sound incredible. I find it very strange that on other sites posters seem to believe anything they are told.

I'm obviously not troll-hunting, that's against the rules.

paxillin · 15/11/2017 18:37

Somebody trollhunted Shock Shock Shock! Not one of the goody-two-shoes, was it Shock Grin?

MollyBear · 15/11/2017 18:37

The conniptions over there are hilarious.

It would appear that what is sauce for the goose is not at all palatable for the gander.

paxillin · 15/11/2017 18:35

I'm not the squirming sort.

CrispyDuckPlease · 15/11/2017 18:33

Indeed Farse - but it was fun watching them squirm. grin

I don't think anyone squirmed at all. Perhaps Farce should enlighten us all as to who the troll is? I always though troll hunting wasn't tolerated on MN and many have been banned for it.

Weebo · 15/11/2017 18:31

Indeed Farse - but it was fun watching them squirm. :o

FarseAboutAce · 15/11/2017 18:26

I do mostly ignore them. I'm not taking it personally, I'm just surprised that they are so insistent that what they are doing is ok, and yet they are so upset when it's even hinted that someone might do it to them.

I'm tired of posters on another site making up lies and publishing lists of "facts" obtained by trawling through years of various mumsnetters' posting history, while cackling idiotically about how clever they are and how much the posters deserve it.

I'm not stupid enough, mean enough, vindictive enough, untruthful enough, bored enough, or online enough to post on the other site Grin

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 15/11/2017 18:25

CrispyDuckPlease · 15/11/2017 18:24

Farce, just do it, we're all waiting to see if you can put your money where your mouth or fingers are. Come on, spill ☺️

Weebo · 15/11/2017 18:23

Oh c'mon. Farse is just winding up a wind-up merchant Rufus. :o

They are the one taking it too seriously.

paxillin · 15/11/2017 18:18

ASing is ok as long as I post the details on another site, not on MN, is that right?

MN have no control over other sites. There is no "what happens on MN, stays on MN" clause, either. If there was. Daily Wail would have to write their own content for FeWail and the Wright Show would be fucked.

I do understand why the OP asked to delete her thread (I think the OP of this thread does, too), but this seems to have moved far beyond that.

MollyBear · 15/11/2017 18:16

Some Redditors should brush up on their knowledge of the usage and meaning of ‘could’.

Then they wouldn’t waste so much energy fretting over something which probably won’t ever happen...

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 15/11/2017 18:16

You may be chatting weebo

farse sounds like she is taking this whole thing way too seriously

Weebo · 15/11/2017 18:13

I'm not remotely bothered Rufus.

We're just chatting about a troll.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 15/11/2017 18:08

Why on earth are you two bothered

If they are that bad ignore them

FarseAboutAce · 15/11/2017 18:04

I await the deletion of this thread, because Mumsnet, quite rightly, doesn't allow people to AS other posters, to out them in real life (even partially), to follow them around or to deliberately make life harder for them.

Though I am a little confused. Maybe the op (of either thread) could clarify. ASing is ok as long as I post the details on another site, not on MN, is that right? And as long as I only posts lists of details. To be doxxing it would have to be a full name, address and photograph, wouldn't it?

FarseAboutAce · 15/11/2017 17:53

Yes Weebo, you are right.

I should go and make sympathetic noises first before (not doxxing remember, I wouldn't do that) pointing out the university, course, hometown, age and school of children, appearance, facial features, friends, financial position etc, etc. Definitely not doxxing, that's wrong.

Should I put all their mn names as well as all their Reddit names out there too, or is that a step too far do you think? Bearing in mind that they've put it all on two public sites for everyone to see, and well they are grown women (or woman) and should know better and therefor deserve it.

Weebo · 15/11/2017 17:52

Oh look - the hypocrite panicking over there.

Well, now you know how Euph felt you massive twat.
