@PandorasXbox

Having a group that's open to the public where posters ( and MNHQ ) are being slagged off isn't on and will only cause disharmony and mistrust. Especially if the Reddit users are coming back to MN to post.

I'm afraid I agree 100% with this (if only we had a like/ upvote button Smile). This current situation is inevitably going to end a lot of hurt and distress (and to some extent has already). It's one thing to slag me off, quite another to pick on individual mumsnet posters and moderators.

Clearly, though, there's absolutely nothing we can do about it, save not to look even when sent links (which I'm resolved to do henceforth). But I do think it's completely unreasonable to openly attack MN staff and MN posters on Reddit and then demand we engage with your opinions on how to run Mumsnet.

Damn seriously, is it hard to function in your everyday life with your lips glued to Justine's arse?

Christinayangstwistedsista · 25/08/2017 20:38

Pacific

Yes that and you are on your second wine

PandorasXbox · 25/08/2017 20:38

And what good would going over to Reddit to call out those who've bitched about you?

No thanks.

Bitchfromhell · 25/08/2017 20:37

I think the ctk thread only determined that ctk was not a troll, and that people liked her.
I think there is also a honeydragon thread that goes on to do the same.
I've not joined up to reddit yet, but have looked at both of the sub links. In all honesty, those two subs aren't currently of interest to me. However I did find some other reddit subs that are.
I don't want to lose the mn that I know, I hope it doesn't get to that. It does feel overly hard work atm though. Concur with the poster who mentioned conversation with family Shock

"tis the inter web.
It's not really, well, not really real.

I think I may not be offended because I just don't care enough Shock
Wine

Valuedopinion · 25/08/2017 20:35

IgnoreMeEveryOtherReindeerDoes, I know, unbelievable hypocrisy, presumably because they have been called out on their behaviour on there.

PacificDogwod · 25/08/2017 20:35

What?! What?!

I am so confused!

Can't we all be friends?
Play nice??

Valuedopinion · 25/08/2017 20:34

BackieJerkhart except it's not true. One person made a comment and was roundly told off. I really wouldn't take that synopsis as anything like the truth.

That poster seems to have an incredible depth of knowledge given how much she abhors it.

There is discussion of a poster who was considered to be a bully by many who for some reason was not banned.

IgnoreMeEveryOtherReindeerDoes · 25/08/2017 20:33

So many bloody hypocrites on here, duno which boiling my piss the most people slagging off Reddit users whilst hiding behind MN or moaning about Reddit users reading MN when you snooping yourself.

Grab a backbone and go slag them off over there.

Or maybe go back a read about the issues ex members and current members have with MN and come back with an opinion on that rather than just bitching about Reddit.

Your notice that some people have raised some very reasonable points

YouAndYourFloofyCatNose · 25/08/2017 20:32

I've reported my post as some of it is insensitive perhaps given the circumstances.
I just can't bear this "we aren't being mean just truthful" bollocks. Those threads are filled with meanness.

I'm going to watch Masterchef as even Gregg's gurning stupidity is more fun than this, tbh.

Maudlinmaud · 25/08/2017 20:32

Pagwatch you're funny Grin

PandorasXbox · 25/08/2017 20:31

I guess all the posters defending Reddit are the ones who've been bitching then Hmm

Christinayangstwistedsista · 25/08/2017 20:31

Now we will all be upset that we aren't important enough to be discussed

Circumlocutor · 25/08/2017 20:31

^'Waves to whoever called me a cunt over there, not on here I note grin, maybe they're already banned

BackieJerkhart · 25/08/2017 20:31

Plus people seeking out other poster's social media and slagging off their childrens' appearance?!

Shock what!? What the hell? These are adults saying this about children?? Fucking hell, I'm best off not going near it. That's low.

ValuedOpinion

It's going to be packed with people seeing if anyone is talking about them
totally why I'm going to

YouAndYourFloofyCatNose · 25/08/2017 20:28

I also think they are proving MNHQ's point about troll hunting. IIRC (although I believe it was deleted) there was a thread asking if CTK was a troll. Quite a few people have had threads made about them/been discussed on threads. People have been named. Children mocked.

God knows I think MN has a massive troll problem which needs addressing more robustly, but those threads aren't the way to do it. They are just a device for people to be snarky in a faux wide eyed "we are only saying what everyone is thinking...you know, for the greater good".

Rude, spiteful and childish, and showing peoples' worst sides, not their best. Some posters on there should be fucking ashamed of themselves.

PandorasXbox · 25/08/2017 20:28

Yes I know why the Reddit group was started but it's a different thing altogether to start slagging off people from here isn't it?

Pagwatch · 25/08/2017 20:27

I'm definitely going to hve an opinion on the whole Reddit thing once I've figured out how to use it.

Give me a month.

Christinayangstwistedsista · 25/08/2017 20:27

Gunslinger

Don't be ridiculous, things aren't that desperate!

Valuedopinion · 25/08/2017 20:27

Lots of you seem incredibly up to date with what's (allegedly) posted on there, yet you think it's disgraceful.
Maybe don't go over there constantly then?
