what should be stopped and maybe educated on is the "fun" trolls. There is no such thing as a fun troll, because once they get the attention they feel is earned, they come back to try and get the same hit. Except they need to keep upping it.

I'll admit - MN taught me a lot but it was robust good humour.

I completely agree too - moderating around issues such as disability and sn is a nightmare but for me that's why their trolling policy is a bit pants.
Once a week some cunt posts about wheelchairs on buses. And utter bellends will trot out utterly ridiculous shite about 'being disabled doesn't men you shouldn't have to wait'

Of course there are bellends out their entitled to that thick, illinformed

opinion but the fact that their right to post stuff anonymously is viewed as equal to the rights of longstanding posters not to have to argue this bigoted small minded stuff relentlessly gets hard to bear.
Especially when the people getting deleted the the ones saying 'don't be a small minded bigot' rather than the actual small minded bigot.

I'm not a "well known poster" or "MN Royalty" but I've been on here for a good few years and I'm actually really pissed off about all these banning/suspensions etc.

I'll admit I've had posts deleted and I think I was even warned about banning/suspension years ago (I may even have been suspended but I can't remember because I dont care much about that shite) but I'm not sly or creepy.

At least I can live with myself.

I think there maybe a discrepancy between those that say they have gone and those that have just name changed tbh.

The more I read, the more despair I see and feel. This is not what MN is for. This is just shit. We are better than this.

In Trumpville (but pre-Trump cos he's too much of an idiot) this is the kind of crisis that requires an all hands meeting. A sit down with the door bolted until it is all aired and either there is a general spontaneous group hug OR everyone agrees to disband the whole thing and never talk again.
