SLOW! It's so fucking slow now, I can't even get long threads to load any more

Let alone post on them.

It's beyond a joke now, vast swathes of MN are now totally inaccessible to me. Can we PLEASE sort this out?

It seems to be working fine for me now, but it does this, goes for a short while working then it simply freezes and it's game over for quite a while. I thought it was because they couldn't cope with the numbers accessing it, I got chucked out a while ago ( as in a couple of weeks ago) and it said the site had too many users trying to access it. But this seems to be different. It's pretty much been the last couple of days or so and escalating.

MrsBellefleur · 02/03/2017 17:45

Just had to close the site again. Blue bar got so far then stopped, screen froze.

Came out, went back in, blue bar got halfway again and froze.

4th attempt to post this. Just an example of the multiple times this had happened this afternoon.
Same problem, threads hanging and freezing.
Never had posts set to more than 25.
No space to download any other apps.
iPhone and Safari

Wanted to update earlier that I couldn't even open a thread but of course I couldn't do it because I couldn't open this thread to update. Seems to be getting worse instead of better.

ClashCityRocker · 02/03/2017 17:27

Was on the desktop site on laptop earlier today and all seemed well.

Safari on iPad is still pretty abysmal though - taken twelve attempts to get to this thread.

WaitrosePigeon · 02/03/2017 17:22

Been thoroughly shit all day

Hellothereitsme · 02/03/2017 17:21

iPhone 6 here. It has been freezing all week. Will not scroll down etc. Today at17:20 it is better.

CiderwithBuda · 02/03/2017 17:13

Just done it again. Managed to post on a thread I had been on but then Threads I'm On just freezes.

BurnTheBlackSuit · 02/03/2017 17:12

To clarify, i googled it through safari

BurnTheBlackSuit · 02/03/2017 17:11

I tried going into mumsnet through google and still have the problem. Fed up of this and off to find another site to amuse me for now..

Yiayoula · 02/03/2017 17:10

Exactly as above with I pad and Safari : logged on via phone ( I phone 4 ) and site works, albeit slowly.

CiderwithBuda · 02/03/2017 17:04

Unusable today. Safari on iPad.

I've opened a new page and gone into Mumsnet.com rather than just try clicking on favourites and that seems to be helping. Otherwise it just hangs. And clicking on Active or a thread is useless as it just doesn't seem to register.

BurnTheBlackSuit · 02/03/2017 16:59

Same non-loading problem with Mumsnet Local site

TheWeeBabySeamus1 · 02/03/2017 16:47

On safari on iPhone and it's been slow for days. Today I'm lucky if I can read one page before it just freezes and I have to close safari and start again, only for it to happen again 2 minutes later. 😭

RustyBear · 02/03/2017 16:45

I do use Puffin sometimes, NanThe Wiser, but I find it a pain to have to keep going to find my Google/Chrome bookmarks on a separate page every time. On Safari, they are all there just under the address bar and I can hop from one of my favourite pages to another without any faff.

TeenageCentaurMortificado · 02/03/2017 16:44

Utterly sick of this now. I've barely been on all week... it hangs, doesn't load, white screen. Gahhhhhhhhhhhhghhhhhhg

Several attempts to get to this thread to moan!

BurnTheBlackSuit · 02/03/2017 16:44

Having the same problem ipad, webpage on safari. The page goes all fuzzy too, like its a picture not actual page. Also half a page of blank screen etc. As pp said it's unusable. Had to post this from my android phone. Not happy.

QuitMoaning · 02/03/2017 16:27

I thought it was just me. All other sites working fine but this site is borderline unusable.

Safari on IPad. All latest stuff..

Crocky · 02/03/2017 16:26

This is a page that has 19 messages in. It will not load.
I'm on the Internet on my iPad, trying to use the mobile mumsnet site.
I have to continually close a tab and open a new one to be able to load a page.

NanTheWiser · 02/03/2017 16:22

For iPad users, install the Puffin browser, which works fine - no problems!

Pinkheart5915 · 02/03/2017 16:21

The app works fine for me BUT when I try and load Mumsnet as a webpage on my IPad it just freezes it's being doing it all day today

PuppyMonkey · 02/03/2017 16:19

(I use Chrome on Macbook, but Safari on phone).

PuppyMonkey · 02/03/2017 16:18

I'm another one who had to give up on iPhone, on mobile site. It just completely freezes. I'm on Macbook now and all is well.

RustyBear · 02/03/2017 16:13

I've been having the same problems recently, my screenshots would be exactly like Bluntness' above. I'm on an iPad Air2, latest version of iOS 10, on Safari. In particular, Threads I'm On or active convos would load, or partly load, but the little loading wheel would still be going round. If I clicked on a thread title, the blue loading bar under the address box would move about a cm or so, then nothing. I tried waiting for the wheel to stop spinning, but it would take so long I'd have to give up.

I then noticed that when the first page loaded (TIO or AC), the ads at the top and on the right side didn't, and wondered if it might be due to a problem with that.

So I've now done what I always said I wouldn't, and installed AdBlocker on my iPad.

And bingo! Back to normal. I'm sorry about it, because I know Mumsnet needs ads to survive, but if I can't use the site, then I wouldn't be seeing the ads anyway.

SoupDragon · 02/03/2017 16:10

It seem fine now but I've had lots of problems today on my iPad with Safari. It has been absolutely fine using the desktop site on my phone though.
