Shiny new thread.

Hopefully won't get derailed.

OP posts:

[Thanks] to you all

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 18/10/2016 21:46

Done. Should have done it last time instead of returning.

Good luck with the pointless fight.

Ausernotanumber · 18/10/2016 21:45

Fanjo. I hear and agree. I didn't make a PA I responded to horrid attacks. which are being allowed to stand.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 18/10/2016 21:43

"We've been through the thread now and the biggest issue has been the PAs"

OK..I'm done. But deleting registration too so I don't come back.

Ausernotanumber · 18/10/2016 21:36

Dixie Flowers we only ever make the best decisions we can at the time with the information available. You didn't do the wrong thing

Dixie I'm supporting a parent with SEN meetings for her underdiagnosis ASD DD at present. The SENCO is lovely and works crazy hours. She's had zero training on SENCO stuff and is so unbelievably overloaded it maddens me. She has off record been near tears in frustration at the system talking to me. So has the mum and the DD (who's a fab energy bundle) just keeps ploughing her own furrow in a way that's so familiar to me.

Strength to you. So much stress, so little society resource at present.

FlouncingIntoAutumn · 18/10/2016 21:20

The deletions are slowly trickling through. It is rather stressful, but I do think a thread like that makes people think. For every obnoxious offensive poster who posts without thinking, there are 1000+ who read and think.

Those are the sort of stats we need to focus on. Those are the reason to keep mustering the energy to keep questioning and educating.

I've posted the link on both that thread and this one and not had a satisfactory answer.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 18/10/2016 21:09

Oops ago and it is SO true.

Absolute rage and trying to run you off thread

Would love to know why.

FlouncingIntoAutumn · 18/10/2016 21:09

If a founding member of MNHQ was posting disablist comments then we'd have a case to call them on it.

But I feel if we want to change attitudes and perceptions we need to attempt to not get too personal by calling out individuals (unless comments are demonstrably disablist) when hopefully we will bring about collective change of thinking by showing that mob bias on a thread causes a discriminatory effect on a protected characteristic.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 18/10/2016 21:09

Exactly.

The thread is odd.

People get ENRAGED on here if disability is mentioned and I'm not sure why.

Someone pointed this out to me ages

Jaderuby · 18/10/2016 20:47

Was worse is that a member of MNHQ was posting on the thread at the time it was happening and should have intervened. No We didn't get the reports excuses can be used when the moderator was posting on the thread.

Jaderuby · 18/10/2016 20:45

What are you going to do about it?

If the thread from the other day is anything to go by, where the two posters who both needed support were left until the next day, then there is likely to be a whole lot of things which breach the equality act left unsorted in a very disgusting manner.
I'm afraid after that there is no way i believe HQ has anyones interest at heart.

Ausernotanumber · 18/10/2016 20:44

It's really just a waste of time effort and energy, isn't it?

Ausernotanumber · 18/10/2016 20:32

*breaches

Ausernotanumber · 18/10/2016 20:32

HQ. You have a slew of posters telling you that mumsnet is

Hostile

Intimidating

Offensive

Unwelcoming

To those of us with disabled children who are disabled or who have an interest in disability equality.

As such, there's a real chance that reaches the equality act provisions.

What are you going to do about it?

Ausernotanumber · 18/10/2016 20:30

HQ

Sorry. Angry typing plus phone makes me balls up.

Ausernotanumber · 18/10/2016 20:29

That post is to HQ as a service provider. Not to any specific poster but how have an obligation as a business which they are.

FlouncingIntoAutumn · 18/10/2016 20:29

Nasty thread the NIMBY one. I've added a few reports and a comment.

Its so you may exist but don't breathe near me. Oh i dont mean really disabled people like your DS just the naughty ones.

CandyMcJingles · 18/10/2016 20:28

Thank you Aus.

I was quite sure we all had the same set of rights, just wanted to check.

Antisocial behaviour as a definition is subjective isn't it.

Deciding whether something is antisocial can depend on an awful lot of factors.

Ausernotanumber · 18/10/2016 20:28

I'm anything but fucking fantastic

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 18/10/2016 20:24

Will avoid making a TAAT

But it's such a predicable script.
