I have reported this thread a number of times and it has been up for hours - please can you delete it now! This is ridiculous

OP posts:
Badders123 · 15/09/2016 20:49

In fact I might head over to Twitter myself.....

Badders123 · 15/09/2016 20:48

It's just so shocking
Wtf are mnhq doing?
Having a fucking nap?
I hope the press pick up on this
So many posters so unhappy about this shit

53rdAndBird · 15/09/2016 20:46

MNHQ, it is pretty appalling that thread is still up even after multiple people have reported it. What on earth kind of bar does something have to hit before it gets deleted as racist? That poster outright said that black people commit most of the country's violent crimes, and that's just fine and dandy?

CrazyDuchess · 15/09/2016 20:45

I wholeheartedly agree - I am also disabled and i have to avoid because apparently minorities of society are here to teach others - sod their feelings....

OP posts:
Badders123 · 15/09/2016 20:44

But you ARE blasé about it!!
How many times do posters have to say "enough" and "do something"
Poorly done, mn, poorly done AngrySad

Badders123 · 15/09/2016 20:41

Duchess
Mn do this with disablist stuff too
I've seen such awful awful threads stay up about kids with sn
They are always left up to "educate" the mouth breathing knuckle draggers who spout such bile
Sadly the (many) posters it offends don't count
Posters with disabled children shouldn't be used as educational tools
It's their kids and their life ffs!

balletcats · 15/09/2016 20:34

Normally I hugely sympathise with MNHQ but I have to admit I'm baffled.

I just don't see how any sane person could click on that thread and not be horrified by how offensive it is.

MesM · 15/09/2016 20:21

The thread is inherently racist - stating prejudice as fact as well as an op who even if not acting in bad faith is offensive. It is extremely poor that the moderater stated an interpretation of the op rather than acknowledge its racism. You might want to review training, although I'd politely request that the post is deleted as it's extremely offensive to let it stand and I think the moderators message exacerbates the offence post rather than supporting the thread in any way.

CrazyDuchess · 15/09/2016 20:05

THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH MNHQ

OP posts:
CrazyDuchess · 15/09/2016 18:35

I love how MNHQ love to end their post "peace and love"

Should be more like "hatred and ignorance"

OP posts:
CrazyDuchess · 15/09/2016 18:21

People who post such idiotic statements are beyond the realm of education.

Fucking trolls

OP posts:
CrazyDuchess · 15/09/2016 18:20

I am hopping mad I tell you Angry

oh look yet another stereotype of the angry black woman

OP posts:
DownWithThisSortaThing · 15/09/2016 18:20

Sorry MNHQ but any racist posts need to be zapped ASAP 'educational' or not, leaving them hanging for the good of the conversation is just Shock it's very offensive and Duchess is right, your response is not good enough

Vixxfacee · 15/09/2016 18:16

Crystal they will probably keep it up as it "educates' people.

UmbongoUnchainedInAPearTreeeee · 15/09/2016 18:15

Also pretty mad about that people of colour thread that's still going.

crystalgall · 15/09/2016 18:12

Totally agree with you. Apparently saying black people commit most crime in this country is NOT a racist statement. Well maybe it is just ignorance but why should it be left to stand?

Vixxfacee · 15/09/2016 18:10

Duchess which thread?

CrazyDuchess · 15/09/2016 18:07

MNHQ - just 2 months ago you promised to do better!

I can direct you to some great educational tools for diversity and equality training because clearly MNHQ and it's moderators are lacking in understanding and compassion Angry

MNHQ - you promised to do better.

I can direct you to some great equalities and diversity training because I am sorry but you guys are severely lacking in understanding and compassion.

Just another person adding to this thread to say that I too am disturbed by the content of posts allowed to stand on threads including the refugee ones.

The amount of vitriol aimed at minorities has been shocking to see and read.

OlennasWimple · 24/07/2016 11:01

I think the Serena thread was left up by a newbie moderator who didn't want to censure discussion, not for the "educating others" reason

I reported a post the other day that said something like "learning disability / ", and got a message from MNHQ that they were leaving it up for educational purposes. When I went back to the thread, no-one had picked up on it, so no educating had gone on. I considered challenging it on the thread myself, but the thread was dying out and I thought better to let it lie. Sad

Atenco · 24/07/2016 10:55

There is a horribly islamophobic thread up at the moment. I reported it, but according to mumsnet it is a healthy discussion about religion. It is not, it is just another form of racist to me mind. It is extremely distressing to see these nasty, nasty people have a forum to get acquainted and tell each other how right they are.

Morning all,

We do have a new system in place where reports with words such as 'racist' in them will go into a priority folder that is looked at first. We hope this will help us to get to these cases faster.

We did drop the ball on this one and we are sorry. The last thing we want is for you to feel as though we are disinterested or blasé about reports on hate speech.

We will try harder to address issues surrounding racist comments.
Apologies again.
