Because I fucked up. Stupidly so. My anxiety causes me to jump on the bandwagon even if I'm not entirely comfortable with it. Hence why I don't socialise IRL a lot

Of course I do.
I have suffered severe anxiety and depression in the past and still do now days. I also have severe issue with food mentally and physically. But like I said I fucked up.

Pagwatch · 28/06/2016 11:30

Ah, well I missed the thread and had no idea who started it.

My assumption was it was deliberately provocative and shit stirring. I couldn't imagine any other purpose. I had no idea it was someone from here.

I'm not distressed. I didn't see it. Just 'list unacceptable words' is right up there in terms of goady posts guaranteed to go the same way.

Talk=take

NeedACleverNN · 28/06/2016 11:20

Ok I've very carefully thought about my response here.

I have already clarified that the thread was never supposed to be inflammatory and I do struggle to see where I personally victimised you. But I do apologise for the thread itself and for any distress you feel I have caused. I am aware that it was very soon after another thread that riled people up. Both threads where actually ideas piggybacked from other people. They said it sounded like a good idea and I took the ball and ran too far with it. One very well known poster has been in contact and apologised for suggesting it but she didn't need to. I talk full responsibility and will admit I fucked up big time. I will be very careful about what I post and where I post it. From here I will no longer discuss it. All I can do is admit I fucked up and apologise profusely and hope that in time I am forgiven.

I'm not sure if I'm pleased or depressed that my thread needs a part two.

i didn't see the unacceptable words thread. An astonishingly stupid and provocative thread title. Absoloutely guaranteed to creat a fucktonne of offence.

2boysnamedR · 28/06/2016 10:28

I get that too, I honestly do. My major aim for ds is to protect his mental health. Like I say it's the dumbing down of the word severe to something more palatable or aspirational I don't understand.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 28/06/2016 09:53

unfortunately I do get it..having a DD with severe needs who has always also been happy..but I also get that if kids are unhappy a lot it is very challenging, to extent that a child can be more "able" but if they are constantly melting down it is very very difficult.

Samcro · 28/06/2016 09:44

i think you misunderstood. a lot we can't change, but you get to the stage of thinking as long as they are happy.
it doesn't cure my dd's massive disability, she still can't walk talk, needs 24/7 care to meet all her needs.
but at least i know she is happy,

He may well still start talking. But even if not, communication is key, its at the root of all my DD's frustrations, so hopefully he will be able to keep communicating and stay happy :)

2boysnamedR · 28/06/2016 09:30

He's four and a half. Too late to just start talking now. Too late to be a Einstein

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 28/06/2016 09:05

how old is he?

2boysnamedR · 28/06/2016 08:46

Happiness is very important. But all ds needs don't get negated down to zero just because he seems happy.
I think people don't know what to say, they feel awkward so say something positive. I get that. That doesn't irritate me too much.
It's the more "don't be negative, hes not to bad, they all talk by school, at least he's happy" then dealing with the "don't say severe" comments together which makes the "severe" thing worse. Like if I need to do is stay positive for him to lead anything like a normal life. It just makes me feel that no one gets it. Not even the other parents who's kids have ASD.
