Katherine, are you going to print the thread, cut it out and glue it prettily to a card for Becca now she has left?

KatherineMumsnet · 23/05/2016 17:13

I DON'T LIKE IT

SoupDragon · 23/05/2016 07:19

Wasn't there a thread about that once? Everyone tried to pass themselves off as HQers.

I think that is where it came from. Many many years go the MNHQ posts weren't coloured so you couldn't tell who was real (even more years ago it just used their names with no mention of MN at all!).

Later, after their posts were coloured and use of the word "Mumsnet" was banned from nicknames, there was another thread where we used similar things to Mumsnet. I have several names from that era too - bumsnet, Netmums, murnsnet... Happy days!

CotswoldStrife · 22/05/2016 23:24

Good luck in your new job Becca!

AdoraBell · 22/05/2016 23:23

Best wishes Becca Cake Thanks Wine

There once was a woman called Becca
For whom a Donkey Sanctuary was Mecca.
She left behind all us Mumsnetters
But promised to send us some letters.
We hope she does terribly well, and we know we will never forget 'er.

Good luck, Becca. Hope you have plenty of fun with the donkeys.

SoupDragon · 22/05/2016 23:03

(Clearly that's a "legacy" nickname back from when this was all fields... I had no idea I had it)

LyndaNotLinda · 22/05/2016 22:59

Good luck Becca :)

I'm sure you'll have a lovely time with the donkeys - much nicer than us lot!

Mumsnetdragon · 22/05/2016 22:59

Sadly not as 'Mumsnet' in a NN is not allowed unless you're a HQer

Interesting...

AnyFucker · 22/05/2016 22:58

Au revoir, Becca.

see you soon on the other side x

TheFairyCaravan · 22/05/2016 22:56

Good luck Becca.

Have fun with the donkeys. I'm so, so jealous.

There's a field of donkeys next to the uni DS2 goes to, he goes for a stroke between lectures.

paxillin · 22/05/2016 22:52

There should have been more of a warning, we would have filled a 1000 post thread for Becca with donkey pictures and love.

cozietoesie · 22/05/2016 22:51

'diploid number'? Go wash your mouth out with soap! Grin

paxillin · 22/05/2016 22:50

Actually, are you at HQ allowed private accounts on MN?

LineyReborn · 22/05/2016 22:47

From revising with DS, I now know the diploid number of a donkey.

That is to be fair the only revision I did with DS.

Good luck, Becca, from the hive to the hooves.

RebeccaMumsnet · 22/05/2016 22:47

Sadly not as 'Mumsnet' in a NN is not allowed unless you're a HQer but we're sure Becca will be back with us under another guise soon Grin

They are some very lucky Donkeys and she'll be greatly missed.

paxillin · 22/05/2016 22:41

Oh no, I'll miss the charming emails in response to even the 7th moan about some unpalatable post on a Sunday night. Good bye and good luck Becca. Will you be allowed to register privately as BeccaExMumsnet?

cozietoesie · 22/05/2016 21:46

Many years ago, I stayed in a house which had a donkey in one nearby field and a cockerel in another.

My ears have never been the same since. Grin

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 22/05/2016 19:58

You will be sorely missed, Becca - the Donkey Sanctuary's gain is our loss.

Wishing you lots of happiness (and good biscuits) in the future.

ThanksWineChocolateCake

Mydobby "Do invest in some proper steel toecaps though, donkeys can be terribly passive aggressive and just when you think you've negotiated a situation they will make their point by 'accidentally' resting atop your squishy toes"

WTF? I thought this only happened among people on the Tube!

WriteforFun1 · 22/05/2016 19:55

good luck Becca

you remind me of an actress friend who said to me "working with animals is no problem, it's working with people that's a problem"!!

enjoy!
