Can we have a topic where name changing is not allowed?

Lots of people feel the 'atmosphere' has been somewhat lost, due to MN becoming so big and so many people name changing for dubious reasons.

So how about a new topic where name changing is not allowed?

So to post in that section, you choose a different name (much like in Mumsnet local). But you have to stick to that name only.

That way, in that section at least, there would be less arses/goady fuckers/Billy bullshitters and drama llamas, hiding behind name changes.

People will become 'regulars' again (in that section at least) and when you go there to chat, you'll at least 'recognise' other people.

OK I'm sure there are 1 million reasons why this is a stupid idea/impossible to set up, but can anyone think of them? Grin

As in, checked you can't just name change to it, rather than faffing with the password.

The more I type, the more I realise that obviously you have Blush

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 29/12/2015 17:46

Someone has Saga as well, I was going to try and simplify my name and it's taken. Sad

EduCated · 29/12/2015 17:46

Yeah but you actually checked though? Not casting nasturtiums, like.

Hq, if you are counting votes, I'd say yes please to this.

I might even dust off my old (royal) name.

EduCated · 29/12/2015 17:43

Sure it's not you?

magimedi · 29/12/2015 17:43

I could pass that test Quiero lets do that one.

EduCated · 29/12/2015 17:42

Yes please and thank you.

Quiero · 29/12/2015 17:42

I think there probably needs to be a kind of citizenship test.

Did reading the penis beaker thread make you spit wine on your keyboard?
Do you need it explained to you when a post is 'lighthearted'?
Do you think it's appropriate to smear excrement on the cars of others?

If you answer yes to any of the above, you need to head back to AIBU.

Xmas Hmm

Somethingisntactuallyanything · 29/12/2015 17:35

Did that last post make any sense? [Mithers]

magimedi · 29/12/2015 17:34

"I think a regulars topic section with no name changing that you had to be member of the site for a while with maryz brilliant four sections in, would just about cover it "

But you have to pass an exam on cress, H20cress, rocket & maybe parsley & chervil before being allowed in. Grin
