Or is it just me?

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/in_the_news/2138429-Lyse-Doucet-shes-an-excellent-reporter-but-what-is-that-weird-accent-she-has?trending=1

Bit puzzled...

It's doing it again! The same five threads have been "trending' all afternoon, including one that was apparently deleted hours ago.

CountBeculaMumsnet · 30/10/2015 13:13

Hi all - Tech are looking into the issues with Trending at the mo. Thanks for posting everyone.

EcclefechanTart · 30/10/2015 11:04

I think "popular" or "trending" imply liking, whereas "active" just implies lots of people are viewing/posting. I wouldn't want to "like" a thread where someone is posting for support after a traumatic experience, for example. Bring back "most active" I say!

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 30/10/2015 00:51

Anchor I accept that I must be an Old Gimmer, but what exactly is the difference between trending and most active / popular? Surely something has to be active or popular before it can be said to be "trending"?

It must be Jeffery!! Halloween Grin

BiscuitMillionaire · 29/10/2015 22:01

A thread I started is in Trending! Halloween Grin Wine Cake
It's from 2014 and it's a glitch... Haloween Sad Halloween Confused

Boo00100001 · 29/10/2015 21:56

whilst we're at it - the deleted autistic son post has been "trending" all day too!!!

ShowOfBloodyStumps · 29/10/2015 21:42

Advanced search is playing up too. I was searching somebody by name earlier (nowt fishy, I wanted to find a link somebody posted the other day) and it repeatedly came up with 0 messages. I even copy and pasted their name to make sure I wasn't mistyping or I hadn't mistake an o for an 0. Nope. No messages at all despite that person having posted on here for ages. I eventually found the post by scrolling back through billions of pages of convos.

There's all sorts of weird stuff happening atm. Bloody Hallowe'en.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 29/10/2015 21:37

Trending annoys me because it isn't being used correctly. They aren't Trending, they are just popular topics.

I would support on fleek, rather than Trending but most active is the best fit and was actually correct.

StrawberryTeaLeaf · 29/10/2015 21:34

Hallowe'en haunting Smile

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 29/10/2015 20:55

My goodness gracious it's a whole other world isn't it. Great thread, thank you viper.

My Trending seems to be behaving itself now, although not updating all that often.

Boo I have often thought that a good prize for a MN competition would be that you get to pick the DoDs Grin

vindscreenviper · 29/10/2015 20:27

Sorry to leave you hanging Hearts

try this thread for 'on fleek' and other yoof speak Grin

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 29/10/2015 20:06

If I was 30 years younger I'd be at preschool. I still don't understand :(

FruVikingessOla · 29/10/2015 19:48

Hearts, I think that 'on fleek' only makes sense to those who are about 30+ years younger than we are? I still don't understand it!

Boo00100001 · 29/10/2015 19:03

Well, they do have some questionable choices for "Discussion of the day" which I can only presume is someone's job at MNHQ to pick them...!

Maybe we're all boring farts!

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 29/10/2015 18:57

On Fleek?

OP posts:
vindscreenviper · 29/10/2015 18:49

I'm waiting for Trending to be changed to On Fleek Grin

ChopOrNot · 29/10/2015 18:43

There is surely only so much interest in washing pillows and duvets....

Boo00100001 · 29/10/2015 18:39

But "Trending" is hip and down with all the cool kids and schnazzles moving

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 29/10/2015 18:30

Trending has never been right since it stopped being Most Active.

Just saying...

lifesalongsong · 29/10/2015 18:22

I started thread about exactly the same problem a few weeks ago.

I was asked to try and get a screen grab but, of course, I haven't seen one since Smile

ChopOrNot · 29/10/2015 18:20

Yep, trending has said the same all afternoon - same as this morning.

GruntledOne · 29/10/2015 18:11

I must say, I thought MNers must be getting a tad obsessive if they've been discussing the same 5 subjects frantically all day!

magimedi · 29/10/2015 16:19

Trending is broken - it hasn't changed all day.

Boo00100001 · 29/10/2015 15:38

ahhh - Colin just wants attention!
