Wowzers! We’ve been nominated for a Website of the Year award. So, erm, would you please vote for us?

Hello, hello,
Remarkably it seems we’ve been nominated for a 2015 Website of the Year award (if it was you who nominated us, bless you!), in the Community category for platforms for discussion of best practice in parking and sharing knowledge, information and ideas.

We’re up against a few wee start-ups such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. So if you were of a mind to vote for us, please do!

The voting period runs from today (Monday 21 September) until Friday 30 October.

Voting is easy. Just click on this link

Choose the ‘Communities’ category.

Choose your favourite website

Rate the site out of a possible five stars

Confirm your vote.

That’s it.

Thanks very much for your support Flowers

And if you vote for Twitter instead… well, of course, that’s absolutely FINE

Late to the party, but voted; expecting my MN Birthday Party invitation in the post in a couple of days, yeh?

Hastagwhatever · 20/10/2015 15:11

Done. Good luck.

JustineMumsnet · 20/10/2015 15:05

Well thank you very much to all those who have very generously voted in this poll, despite the absence of the Lad Bible from the shortlist, which has much to offer, I agree. (We should probably do more vultures stuck in pigs' bums stuff).

Feel free to tell your friends, vote early and often etc Wink.

I figured I have to vote for mumsnet because there is no other website that I have used every week for 11 years which has also given me all the advice I needed about my daughter who has SEN....just for starters.

No one is going to ask why.

PacificDogwod · 06/10/2015 16:24

Voted.

mother2012, this is not the thread for whatever information you are so tantalisingly dangling in front of us. Start a thread in Chat or Education or wherever. There's a time and a place

The Lad Bible has NO CHANCE.

BrendaandEddie · 04/10/2015 16:46

snigger at Mumsnet v the Lad bible

Weechancer · 04/10/2015 16:44

As a relative newcomer to Mumsnet I must say that your site is very comprehensive. The variety of topics covered is immense and in particular the TALK open discussions offer all and sundry to express their views on vital topics.

Well done Mumsnet you deserve to be nominated for an award.

Could I have a nice bottle of wine instead of gin? I'm not one of these hard-drinking MN types.

Heckler · 03/10/2015 13:02

I'll vote for you as long as you invite me to the next birthday party, so that I can heckle your keynote speaker and then drink my own body volume in champagne.

Deal?

BatTeethKeith · 02/10/2015 22:01

I've voted. Can you let Olivia out now though? There might be spiders.

TheTravellingLemon · 02/10/2015 11:20

If I vote, can someone please lock me in a shed with a bottle of gin? Sounds like a holiday Grin.

SoleBizzzz · 02/10/2015 03:00

Voted for fantastic Mumsnet:)

Jux · 01/10/2015 17:46

I've voted. I don't get many problems using it, one or two niggles every few years; I use an iPad mostly and it seems to work, but I don't use the App.

I've been here for 10 years or so, and would probably be in a cell or dead if I hadn't had this place to come to.

I love MN, and have been here for almost (gulp) 9 years. I do think that the site has got a bit too big a bit too quickly and as such is barely keeping on top of its tech set up, security and so on.

That said it works most of the time. For me, anyway. And I am thankful for that.

I think to give it a website award when it's kind of goofing on the technical front at the moment, would be an anachronism (if that's the right word). A hippy dippy, feelgood, virtual home award - certainly. I live here, pretty much.

But I feel a website award should incorporate a bit of grown up ness, ie, awareness and attention paid to the important side of things.

It's a bit like when you buy your first car and you adore it and stick flowers on it and give it a name. Then it falls to pieces because being 19 you forgot you needed to get it serviced.

You love it, but you wouldn't give it car of the year. iyswim.
I like to think while us lot are tootling away merrily on here, adding nothing to the stability of the site itself, someone, somewhere on the Northern Line route is actually thinking about what makes it stay running and whether it needs a bit of underpinning here and there, or a new roof.

Hope that all makes sense.
