I just loved that he said he chose his costume because it will be so easy fir kids to copy - that they can just button up a white shirt.

RustyBear · 15/08/2014 09:56

Yup, definitely should be a CAPALID emoticon, MTM... Grin

RustyBear · 15/08/2014 09:55

While we're waiting, here's one KateMumsnet made earlier (not sure if it's the same KateMumsnet, as she was on a namechange at the time...)

Oh god I can barely contain myself I am SO excited about him being The Doctor!

He is an incredibly fabulous and talented actor, but the fact that he was also SUCH a massive fanboy really makes it something so special. I know Tennant was too...but Capaldi has been there since the start. He's going to project the last 50 years back at us in his own incarnation and it's just going to be the most exciting ride! He's so intelligent, and creative and passionate and kind and just EXACTLY what you'd actually want the Doctor to be like if he was real!

They could not have picked a better actor for the part.

MTM -Oh it was fabulous. I didn't get to meet him but was literally feet from him when he was on the red carpet and then lucky enough to have seats very near the front.

He was so obviously chuffed to be the Doctor, he has been waiting his whole life to play him. It was very endearing. He was so sweet with the small fans as well.

I won't spoil the episode but you won't be disappointed ( except possibly for the amount of screen time he gets, he's not in it enough IMO!). He is gpoing to be a great Doctor, as we knew he would!Have a great time.

We absolutely have to have a Tardis next week and forever more . It mustn't be lost in the void again.

Actually, how cool would a little dalek smilie thingy be? Hours of family fun.

MalcolmTuckersMistress · 15/08/2014 09:36

Oh Lurleene you are SO lucky did you get within smelling distance of him? I bet he smells so totally and utterly divine. Oh god even the thought makes my knees go wobbly.

I'm so fucking far away from EVERYTHING I couldn't go.

Still, tickets for the cinema next week AND there's a live q&a being broadcast from the London showing afterwards.

Lurleene · 15/08/2014 09:32

I saw him in the flesh last week at the Doctor Who Premiere. shows off
He was all smiley and twinkly.

YeGodsAndLittleFishes · 15/08/2014 09:31

Hang on...it was down there a second ago!

Pah! William Hartnell is the first and the best, definitive doctor! If he hadn't developed the role in the first place there would be no Doctor Who now. (Imagine that!)

So looking forward to the new series. It's always a bit sad when the doctor regenerates, I've liked all the recent ones.

RowanMumsnet · 15/08/2014 09:29

Not relevant to this thread, but my personal favourite ever Capaldi thing.

Anyway.

Yes! Thanking you.

MrsBeeee · 15/08/2014 09:27

Capaldi pictures gratefully received of course, not like we ever see enough of them Hmm

But NOT the action sandals one. K?

KateSMumsnet · 15/08/2014 09:27

vvvVVVVRRROP VRRRRRROOOP

That's the TARDIS noise, obviously.

We do have a TARDIS emoticon, but it's currently stuck in a crack in space. It will be along in time for the new series though.

p.s Capaldi is mine.

Tardis

As it's the tardis, when mumsnet enable it (as they MUST surely), will it go back in time and turn all the Tardis posts above into actual emoticons? The time travel space time continuum thing always makes my brain hurt.....

But please Mumsnet. Pleeeeeeeaaaaaase?

MalcolmTuckersMistress · 15/08/2014 09:26

Elephants why do you keep saying these CRUEL things??!

I'm afraid DT is the Doctor to me.
I'm happy to give PC a chance, hopefully he won't be as silly as MS, but I don't fancy him.

Will it make that lovely whirry noise this time around?

MadamedeChevreuse · 15/08/2014 09:16

Yes mn please sort out the emoticons and give us a Tardis ! Then my life will be complete.

Id love to see millions more pix of capaldi too. If only there was someone here who would post a load.
