Hear Ye, Hear Ye - you can now support your World cup footie team with a little flag (NOT an avatar, oh no!)

Hello everyone,
ShamTech has built a little thingy over the weekend that means you can now display a teeny flag of the world cup team of your choice by your username when you post, should you wish.

Just go to the my profile page and make your selection.

We'd like to point out that this does not mean any change in policy wrt to avatars, tickers and the like and is by no means the thin end of any wedge.

(I've chosen England for now but reserve the right to switch to Belgium as and when my choice becomes redundant )

OP posts:

Yay to team Ivory

Thumbwitch · 17/06/2014 01:13

Scatter a few and and around the previous post, I meant to include them to show I wasn't being in the slightest bit serious about Holland, honestly.

Thumbwitch · 17/06/2014 01:12

Very clever! I also thought it was for country of origin for a sec there until I saw Maryz had Cameroon and went "hang on a sec... ahhhh, World cup!"

Not sure I can bear to put a flag up because I do so loathe the football, but maybe I'll get sucked in. I'll wait a bit...

Baroness - Holland don't deserve an orange flag, they're playing in black!! Or so far, the bit of the match I saw, they were playing in black - I was disappointed! But the goalies all seem to be Dutch - what's that all about?

(I have a footie-mad DH, I can't help it if he's watching it in the bedroom every single fucking time I go in there to see where he's hiding )

TanteRose · 17/06/2014 00:03

Yay, Bellosom! Arigato, Tech

Bellossom · 16/06/2014 23:26

Meglet · 16/06/2014 21:31

I'll have this for now but suspect I'll be swopping to Brazil around 10pm on Thursday evening.

PiggyPlumPie · 16/06/2014 21:09

Testing

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 16/06/2014 21:01

Wow, three of us got the same team! So either we all work in different places or the organiser has diddled me out of my £1.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 16/06/2014 20:59

Yes! Cote d'Ivoire to win!

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 16/06/2014 20:59

Will this show my sweepstake team?

heronsfly · 16/06/2014 20:56

Testing

PacificDogwood · 16/06/2014 20:46

Ha!
In the best IT Crowd tradition (switching it off and on again) I fixed it

PacificDogwood · 16/06/2014 20:45

Mine's not working!!

I want a flag, dammit!

[wail]
[floods of tears]

MamaPizza · 16/06/2014 20:28

Sehr gut!

magicalriff · 16/06/2014 20:20

It is the start of the slippery slope, though, as regards avatars

magicalriff · 16/06/2014 20:19

I want to keep mine. Though before this thread I was thinking they were posters' country of origin and had to have one too

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 16/06/2014 20:03

Oh I like that.

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 16/06/2014 20:03

Just seeing if it's worked.

Skina · 16/06/2014 19:10

Love it.

Fenton · 16/06/2014 19:07

Oh it's nice - I LIKE it

Fenton · 16/06/2014 19:06

Okay, I've gone with Portugal for the time being, since that's the team youngest boy pulled out of a hat at school for whatever they're up to there.

Itsfab · 16/06/2014 18:18

test

simpson · 16/06/2014 18:05

Cool just testing to make sure it works.
