Slow site-loading times

Hello

We just wanted to say - many apologies for the slow page-loading times and/or connection problems that lots of you have been experiencing over the last few days.

We've had a look at server performance at our end and there have definitely been some periods when it's been very slow to respond.

We're on it and trying to work out a fix. Wine and/or Brew and/or Cake in the meantime - please bear with us.

Thank you

Still much slower at loading posts too. Used to be instantaneous, (sp ? sorry) now, we wait....Sad

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/05/2014 21:48

Rather grindingly slow again.

MrsVamos · 26/05/2014 21:48

I must admit to having seen lots of threads about it, and other problems, not being able to post etc...

I haven't been here as frequently as I used to be lately, but I have noticed a huge difference in performance of the site.

I'm not going to whinge too much, because lovely HQ did give us tennis fans our Tennis, which with everything else going on, I was surprised at. Clearly easier to put balls in place than it is sort out more serious issues !

Tech are usually pretty hot stuff at rectifying problems, though, so I am slightly surprised the problems have gone on as long as they have.

SaggyAndLucy · 26/05/2014 21:41

Please . I'm getting cross now. The Android app is still not working.
Now I know it's the weekend, and a bank holiday at that, but surely, if you're a website, and website type stuff is your bread and butter, and the website type stuff stops websiting, then you're going to maybe call in your staff at the weekend until you're back being a website again? Hmm
It's been FIVE days now!

mummylin2495 · 26/05/2014 21:35

Well I know others have started threads about it, I myself started one last Thursday !

mummylin2495 · 26/05/2014 21:34

MNHQ can you tell us when these problems are likely to be fixed. It's been a few days now.

MrsVamos · 26/05/2014 21:34

Someone told me it's been going on for weeks. Shock

mummylin2495 · 26/05/2014 21:32

Going by MNHQ previous message, we probably have to put up with it at least until tomorrow when they have a full staff on again, but it's been going on for days now and it's bloody annoying.

MrsVamos · 26/05/2014 21:29

Same as all the above here too, been slow for ages.

It ruins my MN experience. Sad

I have taken to mostly lurking and reading threads via my phone as it's too painful to use the laptop.

I also thought it was something I had done or my laptop, and was cursing my poor ol' laptop like crazy last week.

Poor ol' laptop, I luffs you really.

mummylin2495 · 26/05/2014 21:25

I sometimes think it's ok , then a couple of minutes later it's gone wrong again, I wish they would hurry up and sort it out, it's spoiling Mn time !

LineRunner · 26/05/2014 21:25

yeah it was rubbish just earlier.

gatofeliz · 26/05/2014 21:06

I spoke too soon, i've come to a grinding halt again!

SweetestThing · 26/05/2014 21:04

Yep, it's slow, it stops responding.

mummylin2495 · 26/05/2014 20:57

Is anyone else still having trouble with the site tonight ?

Caoilainn · 25/05/2014 21:27

Really slow for me too, so annoying.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/05/2014 21:19

It's really really bad again and as I'd quite like to talk euro election results frankly I'm feeling rather irritated.

gatofeliz · 25/05/2014 17:59

I'm zipping around everywhere today, no problems for me using chrome Smile

AnyaKnowIt · 25/05/2014 14:23

I'm still getting security warning, anyone else?

FreeButtonBee · 25/05/2014 14:12

Hmm, turning off the social media seems to help a but actually. Although it has been better today than yesterday. You will be pleased to know I didn't shag my husband and instead had a bath and went to bed early.

ballsballsballs · 25/05/2014 13:15

I was timed out earlier when I tried to access TIO.

QuintessentiallyQS · 25/05/2014 13:08

Yes, this is the Nigel Farrage factor at work.

LineRunner · 25/05/2014 11:54

I blame UKIP.

iseenodust · 25/05/2014 11:29

I often get an error message from IE saying 'MN page not running due to long script do I want to turn off the script?'.

Sparklingbrook · 25/05/2014 10:10

It's all good this morning.

CointreauVersial · 25/05/2014 00:35

I've actually gone grey just waiting for this thread to load.

And the Android app is still up the swannee....

Keep burning that midnight oil, techies.
