Do you think you could use cling film instead of a plate?

lemonbiscuit · 10/06/2014 19:04

How much cocoa powder would you put in to make a chocolate version? Also has anyone got a good chocolate custard recipe to go with it?

giraffescantboogie · 29/05/2014 07:29

Made it with blueberries! Kids loved it.

Marmaladecat1 · 23/05/2014 10:44

My DC were desperate to make a cake this morning. Due to sleep deprivation I was not at all keen.
This solved the problem nicely!'

OwlCapone · 13/05/2014 21:40

Shove in some cocoa with the flour and put chocolate spread at the bottom of the bowl instead of syrup.

olympicsrock · 13/05/2014 21:23

I made this today at 7 30 and added a banana to the sponge and honey for the sauce. DS had been ill and so needed indulging. We ate it for breakfast watching Cbeebies. What luxury!

RedundantExpat · 13/05/2014 20:43

how can I make a chocolate-y version of this?

GinnelsandWhippets · 13/05/2014 20:29

Made this yesterday, twas yum :). Did it with lemon curd instead of syrup and added a handful of blueberries into the batter. Lovely!

mercibucket · 13/05/2014 19:23

yum
family fave in our house
kids can whip one up in 5 mins

CarpeJugulum · 13/05/2014 19:08

Oh cool, so should go nicely for pudding tonight then! Smile

OwlCapone · 13/05/2014 17:01

I served it with ice cream and it was enough for me, Teen DS1 and DD (8)

CMOTDibbler · 13/05/2014 16:41

Serves 2 Carpe

CarpeJugulum · 13/05/2014 16:24

How much flour is it please and thank you.

AmberLeaf · 12/05/2014 12:19

I think this was the first think we did with our brand new kitchen c1985.

We all stood in front of it watching it rise Grin

I do this and variants of, regularly.

RebeccaMumsnet · 12/05/2014 11:34

@OwlCapone

But is that your kitchen...?

And was there 15 tons of crap behind the camera, out of shot?

It is JustineMumsnet's kitchen Envy it's gorgeous, more videos coming from there soon Grin

MrsMaturin · 12/05/2014 07:59

I've made this for decades (honestly).

I do a 4,4,4,2 mix and cook for longer.

Meow75 · 11/05/2014 20:08

I think I'm gonna do this tomorrow, and serve it with cream. YUM!!

Meow75 · 11/05/2014 20:07

On the top of booze, a dash of Amaretto would be nice ...

OwlCapone · 11/05/2014 09:57

Far be it from me to quibble, but that's more than 3 minutes.

I agree.

CMOTDibbler · 11/05/2014 08:57

I made this last night - everything bunged straight in the bowl, then scraped to one side once mixed and the syrup squeezed straight into the bottom. Came out perfectly and only one bowl and a whisk to wash Smile

freedom494 · 11/05/2014 05:55

Looks grim.

On the plus side I'd skip pudding if that was the only offering, so at least I'd save the calories .ð???

Icimoi · 11/05/2014 02:36

Far be it from me to quibble, but that's more than 3 minutes. You've got the 3 minutes in the microwave, plus the time spent in putting it together and mixing it, plus more time in weighing things out and washing up.
