Want to get involved with Mumsnetters in your area AND nab yourself some beautiful bespoke art work? Then do we have the competition for you! All you have to do is set your local home page site.

Firewater Gallery is an exciting new online art gallery that produces beautiful hand-drawn map art and modern landscapes of the places most special to you and your family.

To be in with a chance of winning a set of 3 totally bespoke & beautifully designed pieces of map artwork, we'd like you to set your local home page site.

Mumsnet local is growing all of the time, many of the sites are producing fabulous monthly newsletters with local offers, hosting meet-ups and chatting about everything from finding a local Brownie group to where to have a family friendly meal.

How to enter

First visit here and enter your postcode. This will bring up a list of your nearest Mumsnet Local sites.

Chose the one you want to be your home page, and go to that local site. Once you're on the page, go into 'My Sites' at the top of the page, and set it as your home.

After you've done that, come back to this thread and post (you don't need to say which site you have set as your home site) to say you've done it - your name will be added to the hat, and we'll pick a winner at random.

Once you've set your local home site, do feel free to add any local events or listings that you know about, or start a thread or two. You can have another local NN so no one need know who you are on the main site to avoid any RL/MN local crossover.

Good luck, we will pick a winner out of the hat on Wednesday the 30th April.

Thank you and hello to anyone who has come over to the Cornwall page!

It's a big area for one person to cover but we are getting busier and busier by the day and I am really pleased to it's not just me posting listings these days -- thank you all Smile

Our meet ups are friendly and the next one is Friday 2 May in Truro Library, the children's area, please pop in and say hi. We've got Tassimo coffee and delicious cakes -- all free!

Done here too :)

Done (again). Very quiet site though, as we're evidently all shy in these parts Grin

Not sure how much I'll use it tho - thread titled Tumbleweed pretty much sums it up.

Lesuffolkandnorfolk · 26/04/2014 11:33

Yes don't judge my two sites by the Talk Threads! I'm not that fussed about them because I don't feel it is what people want from the Local sites. Talk is not where they head to judging from the stats.

My traffic to both the sites and my editorial pages are up hugely, Twitter is really active and we're making real progress in raising our regional profile (apols if that sounds gloating confused]). We have lots of local parents reviewing shows and events for free and we're being asked to do more/attend more daily.

The sites are full of what's on listings and I am adding loads every day- now working on child care, toddler groups and holiday club listings.

All the LEs are working really hard to make Local a success for locals and visitors. You develop a real appreciation of where you live too. It is a great thing to do.

Oh and we need LA's. Please do PM me or email on [email protected] or [email protected]

Oh and I meant to say MothershipG, I'm sorry I've no idea why you're getting technical faults and very sorry that I can't really help you there but just to say don't always judge a site by its talk threads. For some local sites, try as we may, the talk boards may be full of tumbleweeds but the listings/events and offers are all still being updated regularly. Smile This is also a slightly desperate plea for the people of Reading to start talking...

I thought of adding details about a class I enjoy but I saw all other similar classes were entered by their owners, so I didn't.
