Well!

I am fresh out of the shower from a fabulous camping trip in sunny Wales to a call from one of our lovely staff to say that there was a thread started by "Justine" that was really rather vile.

Apologies all, it seems as though we have some nasties hanging around and have managed to hack Justine's account.

Tech are onto it now and we are looking at in what happened.

Justine is on hols atm. Please do report anything odd that you see.

Thanks all and apologies.

Mild hyperventilation at being logged out here. Totally missed the Justine thread though. That's what you get for doing RL things.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 11/04/2014 21:39

I always miss the interesting stuff :(

Feenie · 11/04/2014 21:33

Yes, I still want to know!

JohnFarleysRuskin · 11/04/2014 21:23

What was the misspelt Stewart lee connection do you think?

SauceForTheGander · 11/04/2014 20:56

I know Canus

Shock [davidicke] [invasion]

Canus · 11/04/2014 20:54

Well I did wonder about ShamTech Grin , but then I gave myself a whack round the head and told myself to get a grip.

SauceForTheGander · 11/04/2014 20:54

Does Rebecca even have shower and Justine really skiing.

It's like the fucking Matrix.

AlpacaYourThings · 11/04/2014 20:50

Rafa, we could be talking to the culprits right now.

It could be a fake RebeccaMumsnet.

We need a test...

TypicaLibra · 11/04/2014 20:50

Justine, was your password 'password' or 12345678?

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 11/04/2014 20:47

Now there's a thought AlpacaYourThings

How do we even know the OP was the real RebeccaMumsnet. This thread could have been started by anyone.

ballsballsballs · 11/04/2014 20:46

This is how I imagine MNHQ Tech right now.

Justine's account
AlpacaYourThings · 11/04/2014 20:45

How are we to trust you are talking to the real tech department? Hmm

The trolls impersonated Justine, we can't trust anyone!

Roseformeplease · 11/04/2014 20:43

Is it switched on at the wall?

Quinteszilla · 11/04/2014 20:43

Mind you, we turn it off first, as we would not want to zap the Koi carps.

Quinteszilla · 11/04/2014 20:42

If that does not work, you need to go to the server center, take out one server at the time, and rinse in disinfectant. Spray quite liberally. It should work,

We regularly dip our hardware in the pond, when we are concerned with privacy issues.

SauceForTheGander · 11/04/2014 20:39

Have they tried switching it off and back on again?

Just checked the GitHub list and it has facebook listed as being not vulnerable.

YetAnotherHelenMumsnet · 11/04/2014 20:32

Okay, noted. I am passing this on. Apologies again, everyone, there is Much Scuttling behind the scenes and your feedback is utterly invaluable, many thanks.

SauceForTheGander · 11/04/2014 20:32

Has Justine left someone housesitting

SnakeyMcBadass · 11/04/2014 20:30

Yep, it keeps booting me regardless of ticking the box.

LottieJenkins · 11/04/2014 20:26

I have ticked keep me logged in and it has made sod all difference!

piscivorous · 11/04/2014 20:26

I'm relieved others have been logged out too. I thought I was being expelled for suggesting Justine had gone rogue and would have to be taken down with a tranquilliser dart Blush Sorry Justine! I'll just go and drink my gin quietly now.

crazynanna · 11/04/2014 20:23

Hey I am on my 3rd glass of house white
I am not going to remember my password for much longer

YetAnotherHelenMumsnet · 11/04/2014 20:23

These are Very Reasonable Concerns, Quint, of course. But Tech is making reassuring and calm noises, honest. We will inform you immediately in the event that he becomes high-pitched.
