Hi Julie,
There appear to be a lot of us unable to post from or laptops and computers. We are all getting the message

Sorry we are not accepting new threads right now.

Can you help us out?

OP posts:
KatyMac · 01/01/2014 00:59

Yep AVG & Malwarebytes have been run on my laptop too

ChippingInLovesChristmasLights · 01/01/2014 00:58

Julie - it would have been nice had you mentioned it, I would have preferred not to have spent the first hour of the New Year trying to 'fix' my laptop. I was trying to reply to one poster who has lost her brother and another who is feeling suicidal - I've now realised I can still PM, so will do that, but honestly, if you are going to lock everyone out who is on a laptop (but not the mobile site??) it would be rather good to let us know. Hmm

ClayDavis · 01/01/2014 00:57

It was about half of AIBU, Anne. And they were more jokey than inflammatory I think. Agree about the massive over reaction.

KatyMac · 01/01/2014 00:57

That's right Clay - being able to find this thread work out that you can post on the mobile version automatically makes you a 'good, well behaved person'

Hmm

makes sense Julie!

But people can stll post from other devices?

HNY btw!

ChippingInLovesChristmasLights · 01/01/2014 00:56

Looks like it's time for something Sparkling - not sure bed is the answer though.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 01/01/2014 00:55

I think this is a massive over-reaction, and probably one of the worst times of the year to be so heavy-handed.

I haven't seen any threads with inflammatory posts, not to say there weren't any, but shutting down the whole site without warning is baffling.

ClayDavis · 01/01/2014 00:55

Or people using the mobile site on their laptop/pc. I'm sure they're all good people too.

Sparklingbrook · 01/01/2014 00:54

Looks like it's time for bed. Night all. x

Dayshiftdoris · 01/01/2014 00:54

I can post from app on iphone an via mobile site on safari on iphone but not on desktop via safari

I can also post via mobile site option on laptop

Can't start a new thread at all

KatyMac · 01/01/2014 00:53

So only people on the mobile site can post

Very sensible as they will be all OK peeps

Ooh this is odd. The mobile site.

KatyMac · 01/01/2014 00:52

On laptop on mobile site (it doesn't look pretty) but I can post

I thought I'd broken it

JulieJingleBellsMumsnet · 01/01/2014 00:52

Morning.

We have suspended everyone's ability to post in order for us to clear the inflammatory threads which have popped up during the evening, and to prevent any more from starting whilst we do this. Jokey or otherwise, they have left a lot of mumsnetters deeply offended and this isn't what Mumsnet is about.

Things should be back to normal in the morning.

Audilover · 01/01/2014 00:48

I can post from the mobile site on my iPod touch but can't post from the desktop site on my iPad.

bountyicecream · 01/01/2014 00:47

Worked for me too :)

RustyBear · 01/01/2014 00:47

Try switching to the mobile site Sauvignon - worked for me! (Link at the bottom of the page)

SauvignonBlanche · 01/01/2014 00:46

Can't post from my iPad.

RustyBear · 01/01/2014 00:44

Yes, that works!

RustyBear · 01/01/2014 00:44

Testing mobile site on iPad.....

MimsyBorogroves · 01/01/2014 00:41

Oh no, that's from the app. I blame the Bailey's.

MimsyBorogroves · 01/01/2014 00:40

Testes...

MimsyBorogroves · 01/01/2014 00:39

I can post from my phone. Going to test iPad in a minute...
