HemmingGate: To ban or not to ban, that is the question MNHQ

Some of us would like to know if a certain politico will be banned, proper.

No rush.

We know you have a lot on your plate with ... stuff.

(I probably got two quotes mixed up in subject line. Don't panic! It's me not you. Am philistine. Italy is wasted on me. Not keen on art, prefer shopping.)

Yes, the link is crap as it's so out of date and its content is now known to not be accurate.

MadameDefarge · 02/01/2014 20:38

MaryZ, actually that is pretty good reporting. And its the BBC!

I have no probs with that.

No, its not the full story, but you can't dictate to the media what they report. be thankful it just about gives the story straight!

PR is a poisoned chalice.

Mr Hemming published an Italian court order, which the website said was in breach of UK reporting restrictions on the case.

I luffs the BBC Grin - they've got it!

PacificDogwood · 02/01/2014 20:33

Carpe

I am always on call darling, so email me anything you want me to translate ;)

Might be a bit tipsy but still can translate well ;)

Well, if not being sober is a reason for an MP to out people and children's names online, I can still claim I was tipsy whilst posting this on mumsnet lol

The Independent mentioned me!! The poster who challenged Hemming calling his Lord of the Rings theory out as crap, bwahahaha

Well done everybody!! Wine

PacificDogwood · 02/01/2014 20:14

Carpe, I've pmed you.

MadameDefarge · 02/01/2014 20:09

well yes beyond, it seems incomprehensible how any literate person could think that.

You have to know that they submit copy, evil, hardcore subs cut it down to size, and decide headlines without reference to either the author or the piece. This is an issue.

CarpeVinum · 02/01/2014 20:07

I have a meme for the "oh it was just a mistake" minimisation

I am so tired of the word mistake being used to try to make "big and awful" seem more like "small and irrelevant".

The "didn't know" defence is just ridiculous. Even if he didn't know the italian law on it, he clearly knows the british law on family court/privacy because he is an active campaigner against it!

He is definitely aware that the recently fostered child lives in Britain, as that was what the entire discussion was about. So he has intentionally broken a british law that he campaigns against, bullshit was it an accident.

And any journalist that is accepting "oops" as an excuse needs to have a think about how gullible they are

MadameDefarge · 02/01/2014 19:56

I want you all to understand how bloody fantastically you have all done.

National coverage, Guardian, Telegraph, Independent and the Mail.

fucking amazing.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 02/01/2014 19:54

Just wanted to delurk and say, "well done!"
