Just saw it for the first time - it's brilliant.
Well done MNHQ!

i'm in firefox

CatAmongThePigeons · 01/09/2013 20:57

I like the zombie warning. Its not on bereavements is it? Shock

paprikash · 01/09/2013 20:41

Better a cute character than some smart arse actually bothering to post in order to inform you you have dared to post on a zombie thread. Even if it is your first time and it was a long thread and not obvious and so on...Frankly puts me off the whole thing altogether.

EhricLovesTeamQhuay · 28/08/2013 20:15

Why does it disappear after two posts? I think it should be more.

NorksAreMessy · 25/08/2013 22:26

I LOVE the zombie thread picture and have just seen it for the first time. Brilliant MNHQ - especially the picture. I feel a badge coming on :)

I think it's a great idea.
It may help people that CBA RTFT too.

Waltons · 20/08/2013 17:43

If anyone wants to see the alert, it is on show here

JUST DON'T POST ON THE THREAD, OK?!!

BeCool · 19/08/2013 17:12

SoupDragon has succinctly nailed it:

"It's not a rule that you can't reanimate a dead thread - this just warns you that the question you are answering may well have been dealt with years ago."

MN aren't trying to burden us with rules re old threads. It's simply a warning that you may be posing on a very old thread. Which the poster is free to ignore if s/he wishes to.

choccyp1g · 19/08/2013 17:03

So if a few do-gooders post "zombie thread" "zombie thread" then it stops showing the warning? ???

Isabeller · 18/08/2013 09:17

deleted

Isabeller · 18/08/2013 09:16

so if Ewe's reply was eleted would the thread be rezombied? Grin

RowanMumsnet · 17/08/2013 21:26

@LEMisdisappointed

So does it come up automatically or does someone have to report it?

It comes up automatically - with the first and second posts on threads that haven't been posted on for six months or more.

With the third post onwards though (as ewe has just discovered), it disappears.

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin · 17/08/2013 19:14

Oh no! I killed the dead zombie thread link above!

Sorry. I stupidly forgot that it wouldn't be 'zombied' anymore with my stupid reply. Blush

LEMisdisappointed · 17/08/2013 19:12

Nagoo · 17/08/2013 19:09

I like it too.

mrscog · 17/08/2013 19:05

I like it!

bruffin · 17/08/2013 18:44

It doesnt seem to be working very well, there were two zombie threads today. One was 5 years old and the other is 6 years old

JollyHappyGiant · 17/08/2013 18:39

Wonderful idea HQ, thank you. I just spotted this alert on a thread :)

Isabeller · 17/08/2013 08:37

Now have great image in my head of smug, finger wagging flashmob of zombies in MN scarves Grin

Tee2072 · 17/08/2013 08:37

Helen, long may her memory reign, has said that it stays after the first 'zombie' post so the next person sees the message.

So if someone doesn't realize the date, or just doesn't care, it will warn the next person to see the thread.

After that, I guess it's just reanimated.

SoupDragon · 17/08/2013 08:37

I think it stays for a couple of posts, IIRC.

It's not a rule that you can't reanimate a dead thread - this just warns you that the question you are answering may well have been dealt with years ago.
