Threads dying at 1000 posts?? Why?

magimedi · 30/03/2013 22:49

It just seems so fucking arbitary.

Why can't threads just run to their natural conclusion instead of being beheaded at a certain number?

I can't fathom the reason for this & would be delighted if someone could explain.

OP posts:

Katie, if I had a hat on, I'd take it off to you !

Have you handed out the condoms ?

MrsVamos · 30/03/2013 23:54

Maryz, my love, your posts are only pink for you.

That's why 'they' let us have special colours, so we don't stress too much about how many posts we can go to in a thread, or how fast threads load. [buwink]

Boys and girls of all persuasions, Maryz. No sexing on the premises ( hollow laugh)

Tried to tell them that we are in Scotland not Spain but since I can't get my two to put a coat on, I was outvoted. Oh, and some of them are Scouts, or something outdoorsy....

You'll find them all over the house in the morning.

Far too cold to be outside, especially when they have woken at 3/4/5 for a wee and sobered up a bit and it's COLD. [bugrin]

DC having an end of term party. Tents up in the garden and everything, lots of shrieking and screeching going on.

I dare you to go down and put the Birdie Song on, or some Black Lace.

KatieScarlett2833 · 30/03/2013 23:43

I went down earlier, they insisted on hugging me, drink has been taken and I have the fear.

oh join them. You fuddy duddy.

EduCated · 30/03/2013 23:40

Mine are lavender and OP's a mossy green. It's very organic

KatieScarlett2833 · 30/03/2013 23:40

I have forty teenagers downstairs doing the Macarena
Kill me now.

MrsVamos · 30/03/2013 23:40

I never preview. Hence why usually in a fast-moving thread there are tons of posts from me posting corrections.

I wish my fingers worked as quickly as my thoughts.

Pan · 30/03/2013 23:37

I have lavender. It both highlights and balances the 'preview messages' and 'post messages' icons. Prissy, yes.

MrsVamos · 30/03/2013 23:35

I also do the highlighting thing too. The OPs are blue, MNHQ's bright blue and mine are a lovely pale shade of pink-ish-ness.

[not an old gimmer just yet]

You're like me, Maryz. Don't like change. [bugrin]

I do have the 100 posts per thread and bookmarking, but only because I find threads easier to read that way.

How do you manage without bookmarking where you are or where you have read to on a thread ? Or am I getting lazy as I head towards 40 ?

Pan · 30/03/2013 23:33

or not highlighting your posts in lovely pastel shades? It's a basic requirement.

EduCated · 30/03/2013 23:33

Nah, don't help that Chaos out. She's mean. She's slaughtering me on Words With Friends Angry
