Annoying gap/Wowcher

TiggyD · 04/02/2013 06:48

On some threads I get a huuuuuuge gap between the thread title and the first post. There is also a one line advert for wowcher just above the first post. Is it just an annoying ad not working or my problem?

OP posts:

I guess it is an advert MN might get some money wowcher gets more customers , im a bit meh about it but the gaps fixed i can ignore the bar, sometimes the flashy adverts at the sides distract me Confused

RooneyMara · 04/02/2013 11:40

I mean it just looks like MN is ^endorsing or affiliated to wowcher or something...iyswim? Round the edges is fine, can ignore those.

mrsjay · 04/02/2013 11:39

and anyway I have heard you need to wait at least a decade to be able to use the discount vouchers Grin Justine mumsnet said on another thread if they get complaints they will remove it ,

RooneyMara · 04/02/2013 11:39

It's not fixed, sorry Kate, the blooming ad is still there interrupting every chat thread Sad

The gap has gorn though thankfully

I find it intrusive.

hugoagogo · 04/02/2013 11:36

I would like the wowcher thing to go away please,

I already get eleventy billion emails per day from groupon trying to give me discounts on very expensive restaurants and luxury cars. Hmm I have no need of wowcher.

Trills · 04/02/2013 11:21

The Wowcher ad is wrong anyway.

"sign-up" is not the correct wording.

In the imperative it should be "Sign up to get lots of emails with nothing that you really want".

Ghostsgowoooh · 04/02/2013 11:17

Ghostsgowoooh · 04/02/2013 11:16

mrsjay · 04/02/2013 10:42

Flobbadobs · 04/02/2013 10:40

Me too, on ipad.

DawnOfTheDee · 04/02/2013 10:37

It's happening to me too.....seems to be on all the chat threads. I thought none of the posts were showing and I neeeeeeeded to know people's opinions on baked beans in cottage pies, etc.

hellhasnofurylikeahungrywoman · 04/02/2013 10:19

And me. I have adblocker installed but it's not catching this one, it's driving me mad. Google Chrome here.

ScrambledSmegs · 04/02/2013 10:09

Ah good. I was going to come and have a good ol' whinge about this, but MNHQ are onto it.

Henceforth I shall remember Wowcher as the brand that fucked up MN. I'm sure they'll be happy to know that Grin

I like MN very much and* want them to stay in business - is how that ^^ should read.

RandallPinkFloyd · 04/02/2013 09:56

Just wanted to say that I use Adblock on my lap top too but I turn it off to use MN.

I like MN very much want them to stay in business. If that means having a few adverts on my screen and clicking the odd one now and then I think it's a pretty small price to pay.

AnyFucker · 04/02/2013 09:56

same here, on threads I started

Lifeisontheup · 04/02/2013 09:55

Please make it go away, otherwise I might have to do my essay. Grin
