Zombie is old. Zombie is grumpy. She freely admits to those.

Zombie also has one tit left and there are a few posters who are really, really getting on it.

It's getting to the point that she's about ready to take an extended MN holiday just for the sake of her blood pressure and her sanity.

Please, please may we have a hide poster button?

I've never had a martini.

Or a babycham. I nearly bought some in Tesco but DH said I was actually in danger of morphing into some odd lady from the 1950's.

Anyway that it is RebeccaHQ on this thread so we can have larks and shizzle. Brillo.

SPBInDisguise · 04/01/2013 12:17

I doubt we're all talking about the same person/people. Everyone is different and so personality clashes can occur with anyone. I can't bear Frank Skinner but he seems fairly successful so I guess some people must enjoy looking at or listening to him.

LadyBeagleEyes · 04/01/2013 12:15

I wish I knew who you were all talking about Confused
There are some posters that I virulently disagree with but I just say my piece and leave the thread.
I agree with SM on this.

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 04/01/2013 12:13

I think you should run a charity auction (beneficiaries: Rebecca and Olivia's martini fund) - 24 hours access to the MNHQ moderation system.

Absy · 04/01/2013 12:07

actually, screw the biscuit tin. I want access to the gin collection.

RebeccaTheHallsMumsnet · 04/01/2013 12:06

@Absy

If you're guest moderating, do you get access to the MNHQ biscuit tin? Or is that for normal MNHQers only?

Oh no, we don't share biscuits with everyone Biscuit

BoffinMum · 04/01/2013 12:01

Sorry, let's be clear here. I did not mean simply delete their posts. That would be too uncontroversial. I meant delete them as in the Armstrong and Miller sketch "Kill Them', a la James Bond. Wipe them out. Make them shuffle off this mortal coil. Make them an ex-poster, nailed to the perch. Whatever it takes. I think this would raise the stakes quite satisfyingly whilst appealing to my inner anarchist. Grin

Absy · 04/01/2013 11:57

"Deleted because poster clearly can't see that they are wrong and Abs is right"

"Deleted because poster's name is a bit too close to mine for my liking"

"Just because"

  • know if

Well I'm definatly on the pedants one now!

GrumpySod · 04/01/2013 11:47

If MNHQ said "We can't afford to pay Tech to find an efficient way to implement it" I would understand.

FairyJen · 04/01/2013 11:47

I just want to no of I'm on the otw list....

GrumpySod · 04/01/2013 11:46

Justine's justification doesn't make sense because it's an option for individual posters, part of our customising toolbar whatever. It's not like that poster's contributions will be deleted for everyone, just for individuals.

I bet it would cut a lot of the pointless argybargy. Probably lead to less work for MNHQ having to delete threads that ascend to the worst personal attacks.

scottishmummy · 04/01/2013 11:41

mn discussion forum, for discussion of topics.inherent in that is expectation of difference
if you really can't tolerate different pov people irk so much you need to hide, that's your issue.not theirs
The whole point mn is the range, depth and eclectic pov.yes it's random, can be annoying...that's the point

We should have a real life 'delete' button like in Doctor Who so the annoying posters are TAKEN OUT and exploded remotely. Much more satisfying. Even if we don't get to hear the squelch, we would hear about it in the news and could nod knowingly as the authorities tried to work out what the fuck had happened.

I would be a terribly reasonable guest moderator.

lol at ginhag.

I would love guest moderation. I would create a topic called Cunty Corner and shove a load of threads in there.

I would also permit a 'name the MNers you loathe' thread with a complete amnesty on deletions.

Absy · 04/01/2013 11:17

Yes! Guest Moderators!

"The Camping Topic has been deleted for today, because Absy just doesn't do Camping".

"Deleted for being too long - - I'm lazy"

Pagwatch · 04/01/2013 11:13

Mn should have guest moderators every now and again. It could be a prize or something

"thread deleted as pagwatchmumsnet thinks the OP is a shite slinging twat"

"post deleted as op clearly didn't think it through"
