Zombie is old. Zombie is grumpy. She freely admits to those.

Zombie also has one tit left and there are a few posters who are really, really getting on it.

It's getting to the point that she's about ready to take an extended MN holiday just for the sake of her blood pressure and her sanity.

Please, please may we have a hide poster button?

Val I dunno, slightly nervous now as I dunno techy stuff

hmm will ask nerdy 13 yr old's advice in the morning, hah

MardyBra · 03/01/2013 23:55

There aren't many posters who annoy me enough to hide them, but apart from the odd petty mardy rant, I tend to stick to chatty or silly threads.

The problem with hiding would be when it becomes apparent that one MNer has hidden another because they don't respond to them or something. Then there could be accusations along the lines of "Why have you hidden me, you bitch?" and things could get even more heated.

I reckon I know who Getorf is on about too.

TheBOF · 03/01/2013 23:55

I've started a thread like this before, and put forward what I thought were really good arguments for it, which weren't responded to. I might search and c&p...

Valpollicella · 03/01/2013 23:53

Your post on this thread are ridiculous = fine. not deletable.

"You sound smug to me" = not so fine. "Your posts/argument sounds smug" is fine, depending on the context of course.

ie you can attack the opinion but not the poster/person.

^^ THAT

Ie. Your post makes you sound like a twat. MNHQSANCTIONED

Go nuts people Grin

Why on earth would using a greasemonkey script that allows you to not see people who annoy you be something HQ would be 'all over'? I use browser plugins that stop me seeing adds, and that hide the facebook like button. This is exactly the same thing. Doesn't change anyone else's MN experience.

There's no prize for being able to ignore people being dickheads. It doesn't make you a bad person if you're not able to let it all slide off you. If it makes people more comfortable on MN, and avoids them being upset, I'm all for it - why would I, or anyone, want Zombie, for example, to continue being upset by people when she could hide them, be happy on MN, and we'd never know the difference?

Valpollicella · 03/01/2013 23:45

Is it not BTP? Tell me where and I will fine Justine;s post to quote back at her and MNHQ.....

Valpollicella · 03/01/2013 23:44

Valpollicella · 03/01/2013 23:38

Apparently the Justine Approved? version is 'Your post makes you sound like a twat'. Then it's not a personal attack

That's HQ Approved? apparently.......

BoysAreLikeDogs · 03/01/2013 23:37

Alas, ArtexMonkey, it looks like there's no current way to use Greasemonkey on iPhone...

I can do that most of the time BTP - but when they keep saying 'But Chipping you said...' 'Chipping that's 'whatever'' you either have to reply to them or leave it be and look like the bad guy when it's in fact them being as thick as pig shit - it's hard 'debating' with the hard of thinking.

ChippingInLovesChristmasLights · 03/01/2013 23:29

TSC I have, I have - that's WHY I want the splatter option!! Xmas Grin

I liked it in the old days when you could just say 'Oh do fuck off' - it's sad how we took that for granted then it was whipped from beneath us...
