Following on from the news of the release of our shiny new Android app, we are vair pleased to announce the release of the new and improved iPhone and iPad app.

All of our Talk apps are free to download and you can find lots more info on all things mobile here including an easy to scan and download QR code to get the mobile version on your phone.

Please do take a look and come back and tell us what you think.

Then I remembered I was using safari and not the app..... Blush

BabylonPI · 30/11/2012 14:25

Seems to be ok on the iPad :)

BabylonPI · 30/11/2012 14:21

Mine just crashes on my iPhone, anyone know why, and if I can get the old app back?

Terrywoganstrousers · 30/11/2012 12:39

That'll be a no Sad

Terrywoganstrousers · 30/11/2012 12:39

Do the Scottish smileys work on here?

I read some of the early reviews about the Android app & nearly didn't bother to download. Very glad I did though, I really like it! Read lots using it & posted a little. Do have the little problem of no auto capital after a full stop...

magentastardust · 30/11/2012 11:38

Wah my IPod touch is almost 2 years old and is 4.2 so so new app isn't supported Sad

MediumOrchid · 30/11/2012 11:29

A couple of comments on the android app. Firstly, thanks for making one! It is looking pretty good. I will agree that we need to have the op posts highlighted throughout the thread - I can't cope without that!

Often when I open the app the advert at the bottom flickers between the bottom and the middle of the screen. this stops when I refresh the page. I'm using an HTC one X.

Finally, when I type a message the keyboard doesn't automatically put a capital after a full stop like it usually does. Not sure if this is an issue with the app or the phone though.

Thanks again!

Can we have a most active thingy on the iPhone app please Wink

AbigailAdams · 30/11/2012 11:02

iPad version keeps crashing for me if I try and get to the end of a thread. This thread, for example, so I can't actually see if anyone has already raised this issue Grin Oh and no bookmarks. I lurves me bookmarks!

ParceQueJeLeVauxBien · 30/11/2012 10:55

Oh. I liked the heart, but why is it showing up as Envy?

ParceQueJeLeVauxBien · 30/11/2012 10:54

How the mo' coming along?

AmandinePoulain · 30/11/2012 09:58

jux it's not like the mobile site, add message isn't at the bottom, it's top right, click on the '+' and you'll see it.

LostInWales · 30/11/2012 09:58

I really like it btw, I can find things better and it's easier to read (well the bits that show up anyway Wink) just a shame I've had to come on the computer to comment on this thread! Everything else has worked fine for me.

DarrenMumsnet · 30/11/2012 09:48

Hello all, I'm typing this from the Mumsnet iPad and I can confirm that the crashing problem happens for me too. I've already been in touch with the developers and they are looking into it.

I'm also checking whether is not working.

I can confirm that we are putting together a list of problemsimprovements based on your feedback so please keep the suggestions coming.

Jux · 30/11/2012 09:37

Amandine, I don't get an add message box. The threads scroll down only so far, but not that far! I'm posting via Safari and the normal site.

SingingTunelessly · 30/11/2012 09:26

Well just proved my own point! The pointy sideways bracket things obviously don't appear.

SingingTunelessly · 30/11/2012 09:23

Like it! But I've just noticed from a thread I'm on that if somebody types something in the brackets it doesn't show up on the iPad app? Means you miss part of the conversation.

thingy1 · 30/11/2012 09:05

I'm on iphone app, I like the look but like many have already said it keeps crashing when I try to scroll down fast, when I scroll down slowly it seems to be fine.

I'm glad to see a refresh button too.

Whatevertheweather · 30/11/2012 08:50

Nope have deleted and re-installed - still the new app which still crashes every time I try to open a thread. Grrr

Whatevertheweather · 30/11/2012 08:46

I'm confused - can't stay on the app long enough to try and post a message so I'm on the mobile site and all the emoticons you are saying look weird look normal on here? And I can see what's written inside < > brackets. Maybe they only look weird in the app so anyone reading your post on the normo or mobile site just sees it's before. Weird.

I'm going to try deleting and re-installing see if I get the old one back as prefer apps to safari.

Any word from darrenmumsnet? Or is he in a corner sobbing as apps crash all around him??

AmandinePoulain · 30/11/2012 08:24

poor you have to press refresh, it doesn't automatically refresh when you click on 'active' anymore.

jux to see the smileys go to 'add message' and start typing.

darren is probably enjoying a bucket full of glass of gin somewhere Grin

poorbuthappy · 30/11/2012 08:08

How odd. Just had to delete and reinstall and now I've got the old app back! Confused

Jux · 30/11/2012 08:06

Oh now I don't even get that far. No threads at all!! It can't connect to mumsnet. Waaaaaaaaaagh!
