Following on from the news of the release of our shiny new Android app, we are vair pleased to announce the release of the new and improved iPhone and iPad app.

All of our Talk apps are free to download and you can find lots more info on all things mobile here including an easy to scan and download QR code to get the mobile version on your phone.

Please do take a look and come back and tell us what you think.

Testing, testing 123

Startail · 29/11/2012 17:24

7/10
Nice and clear, full tread titles, haven't tried links yet, but what isShockConfusedEnvy for
AndWinecocktails instead of wine and Brew cups instead of mugs it's too posh.

SweetMingePie · 29/11/2012 17:21

Ipad app! Let me check that out!

JambalayaWarmMincePie · 29/11/2012 17:19

I don't like it!!!ConfusedConfusedConfusedConfusedHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmm

Cherrypi · 29/11/2012 17:05

Can you remove topics from my topics now? I can't figure it out. Thanks.

Terrywoganstrousers · 29/11/2012 16:33

Mine is a bit crashy too- I can't click through to my antenatal thread.
I do like the refresh button though, and the bigger posting box. I also like not having to have the threads divided into pages.
I would like to be able to see posters profiles and pics on the pics thread, also echo what others have said about the bookmarking/ coloured posts being useful.
But especially the emoticons, it's so weird having the mismatching ones!!!

LadyIsabellaWrotham · 29/11/2012 16:23

Hmm
Have just updated iPhone app - never previously used it (always use mobile site) because I use "I'm on" a lot and app a bit rubbish for that.

So, updated app and tried "I'm on" again:

  1. just gives you a list, not the truncated latest posts, so you can't see what's happened without clicking through
  2. when you do click through it takes you to the top of the thread so you have to scroll down to where you were - for things like the Strictly / Downton / post-natal threads, which can run up to a thousand posts over a period of weeks/months this is not helpful (I know you can flip, but that's one more step ) I like being able to click straight through to the latest unread post (out of the last 5)
  3. trying to click through to the Georgette Heyer thread crashes the app completely Shock
PoppyAmex · 29/11/2012 15:59

Is the "most active" option gone?

YankTeeDoodleDanTee · 29/11/2012 15:56

Oh boy, that's a bit of a difference, MmeL!!!!

MmeLindor · 29/11/2012 15:53

Ha. That was a heart on my iPhone. Not a face. Shock

MmeLindor · 29/11/2012 15:52

Oooh. I like the refresh button. Jolly good. Envy

MmeLindor · 29/11/2012 15:50

Is this where we come to moan about the old one being better?

Thanks to all the Tech crew for their hard work Wine and Thanks

footyfan · 29/11/2012 15:47

Should have said I'm talking about the iPhone app.

Also, things I'm commenting on aren't coming up in my 'discussions I'm on' list.

Sorry to moan - thought you'd need to know the problems we're seeing!

footyfan · 29/11/2012 15:44

It always takes a little while to get used to a new version of an app - but quite liking the look of this so far.

Can't see too many new features. Still can't see how to delete things I'm watching / not sure if we can see people's profiles.

Also, can't see any emoticons - they just come up as boxes.

GrannyRat · 29/11/2012 15:11

Definitely need :

  • Topics > all
  • Coloured posts by OP and me as poster
  • Bookmark/save
JugsMcGee · 29/11/2012 15:04

Any plans for a Windows phone app?

Terrywoganstrousers · 29/11/2012 14:43

I don't like the new emoticons at all- so confusing and no pombear.
Some are fine but some don't seem to bear any relation to the original emoticons so thy could change the meaning of a thread for me.

MimsyBorogroves · 29/11/2012 14:43

It's going to take some getting used to - I don't think it's immediately as easy on the eye as the old app but I've found some of the features easier to use.

Lots of different emoticons - how will these come up on the main site?

I'm noticing that when quotation marks are used in thread titles they're still showing the code for them, rather than the quotation marks themselves.

It's crashed upon opening a few times too.

MsInterpret · 29/11/2012 14:40

They're all coming up normal for me old app.
Nuzzle - yours are hmm, shock and blush in the order you asked.

SillyBeardyDudeyman · 29/11/2012 14:37

post colours required and automatic capitalisation at the start of sentences! otherwise the pedants might smack my bottom Sad

NuzzleandScratch · 29/11/2012 14:34
  • find, not did. And where's the hmm gone?
YankTeeDoodleDanTee · 29/11/2012 14:34

It's the biscuit, Cannon. It looks like the regular biscuit when you view it on a PC.

YankTeeDoodleDanTee · 29/11/2012 14:32

Also...it just crashed while I was scrolling though a largish thread...

NuzzleandScratch · 29/11/2012 14:32

I think that's a biscuit Canonfodder. I'd like to know what this Confused means. Anyone know? I did this one Shock very creepy! And this one too a bit Blush.

YankTeeDoodleDanTee · 29/11/2012 14:30

Time to be picky

Need OP and own posts coloured.

" are showing as code in titles in TIO list, although fine when thread is opened.

Bookmarking, as already mentioned.

::Darren rolls his eyes so hard Tee hears it in Belfast::Grin

Otherwise...well done gang!
