I have a little question about reporting.

I don't do it very often but when I do, I'm often stumped about what to say in the 'your comment' box.

I mean do you, MNHQ, expect to hear what I think of the post or the poster or just a one or two word comment about which category of talk guidelines it's breaking, like "personal attack", "disablist" or "thread about thread"

or do you like something a bit more flowery like "this poster is being a twat" ?

or can I just leave it blank and let you decide?

What do others put down in that box then?

Shock

Leave the bastard

MaryZed · 11/10/2012 08:39

Well a haiku is better than the reply I have just got from Olivia for reporting a goader.

She wished me a Happy Christmas.

I am flouncing.

OliviaLMumsnet · 11/10/2012 01:03

@ZombTEE

I swear Olivia once wrote me a Haiku in reply...

You might think that. I
Could not possibly comment.
Too cute by half, non?

MaryZed · 10/10/2012 22:31

I have to admit to an awful lot of "ah, come on now, this is obviously a load of bollocks/pile of shite" type comments.

Sometimes I try to be witty.

When I'm particularly upset I just rant a bit and it makes me feel a bit better.

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 10/10/2012 16:36

There was once a post on MN
That made me count up to ten
"It's a troll," I cried
And averted my eyes
Whilst I hit "Report", once again...

Absy · 10/10/2012 15:12

I normally put "please put this in Classics, It's HILARIOUS" and then they say they'll take it to the committee. but why am I not on this committee

ZombTEE · 10/10/2012 14:45

I swear Olivia once wrote me a Haiku in reply...

HelenMumsnet · 10/10/2012 10:29

Hello. Sorry you haven't had a reply to this yet.

Yes, please please please do put something in the comment box: it really helps.

Doesn't have to be an essay (or a poem), though. Unless you're in the mood...

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 10/10/2012 07:55

I always put a reason eg "this might be a troll/spam/goading - something not right anyway. "

MoaningMingeWhingesAgain · 09/10/2012 20:40

I have put things like -
spam
this should be a non-members request (thrilling I am)
Please consider for classics, but at least read it because its really funny Grin

MooncupGoddess · 09/10/2012 20:36

Usually I just give a brief reason (advert, personal attack, etc) but sometimes if I think it's a troll but am not quite sure I describe my thought process. Occasionally I get really cross at the poster in question and rant/splutter with rage Blush

Pascha · 09/10/2012 20:05

Oh god! I have actually written 'what a twat' before. More than once Blush

sittinginthesun · 09/10/2012 19:54

Depends on what time of day it is. I reported a couple at the weekend, and just suggested that whoever had the evening shift got the gin ready.

DameFannyGallopsAtaGhost · 09/10/2012 19:52

I've reported ads with just a 'tut tut tut', which seemed to tickle them

Sparklingbrook · 09/10/2012 19:45

I have put-

'Weird'
'Bizarre'
'This is going a bit pear shaped'

I always say why I'm reporting

HoneyDragon · 09/10/2012 19:37

I tend to go....

Spam, spam, spam, spam, spam spaaaaaaam.

If it is spammy.

Or simply

Uh Oh

OhChristFENTON · 09/10/2012 19:31

Oh, I love that poem, Beer, I might have to steal it Grin

I will have to think of a witty ditty next time I report. Much nicer for MNHQ to read than "OMG what an arse, - LoL"

I NEVER say Lol though

I put a little explanation. The last one I reported, I wrote 'This looks like advertising to me. And for a right pile o' shite as well, IMHO.' MNHQ haven't replied to it Sad

MissAnnersley · 09/10/2012 16:43

Grim I came back from work and was gutted when it was gone. Grin
