Hello.

Having rofled our way through your Bradley-Wiggins-inspired poetry thread, we thought we'd start the Official Mumsnet Olympics Haiku Thread.

Please do come and post your best haikus about the Games, as and when inspiration strikes.

We may well have a prize or two for the best offerings....

"Great Britain takes gold!"
We've heard that much more often
than we expected.

ApplesinmyPocket · 05/08/2012 23:11

MirandaGoshawk "The last line is so awful - Please think of a better one!"

How about:

There was a young lady named Jess
She gave us her personal best
She can leap throw and run
Her tum's like a drum
And she looks very nice in her vest!

Any better? Grin ok ok perhaps not...

Hidden from our sight
The drugs tester awaits all
That man takes the piss

FasterHigherBeardierDaddyman · 05/08/2012 22:39

Stretch and point your arm
Pull other arm across chest
That's the lightning bolt!

OlympiaMumsnet · 05/08/2012 22:12

Men's Hundred Metres
Is the blue riband event
The Lightning #Bolt Won
Grin

When Ainslie attacks
Mate don't piss the main man off
In windy Weymouth

NicholasTeakozy · 05/08/2012 21:07

Ennis is a god
In summer rain she excels
Gold is her colour

NicholasTeakozy · 05/08/2012 21:04

Murray and Robson
Silver medals in the sun
Pleased me mightily.

iklboo · 05/08/2012 16:38

Now Mo can go and Greg can jump
And Andy can hit a ball
Gymnasts get medals, cyclists turn pedals
But Jess is the best of them all

MirandaGoshawk · 05/08/2012 13:11

haiku schmaiku

There was a young lady named Jess
She gave us her personal best
She can leap throw and run
Her tum's like a drum
But I'm guessing her house is a mess!

(No disrepect intended towards Ms E. Just that her mind may have been on things other than housework recently. Aargh I wouldn't say that about a man would I? Sorry.)

The last line is so awful - Please think of a better one!

TheCunningStunt · 05/08/2012 08:51

Six golds in one day
The athletes blew me away
They made history

Scatterplot · 05/08/2012 05:32

Super Saturday
Ennis, Rutherford, Farah:
Three golds in one night!

Emandlu · 04/08/2012 22:37

Not celebrities

Bronze limbs flash; oars whip
silver from the ancient Thames
Gold flames long-range dreams

dinkystinky · 04/08/2012 21:31

Jess

You star...

ThePsychicSatsuma · 04/08/2012 20:05

Row row row your boat
gently down the stream
beat the Aussies, race the Danes;
achieve the golden dream

colditz · 04/08/2012 16:03

Women's volleyball
Golden limbs, bikini'd breasts
Political porn.

TheCunningStunt · 04/08/2012 08:05

The Americans fight hard for gold
The Russians weep silver tears
We keep a stiff upper lip for the bronze

ThePsychicSatsuma · 03/08/2012 19:53

admiring the genetics
of the Danish rowing team
what powerful sperm they'd have
the next Viking invasion

ThePsychicSatsuma · 03/08/2012 19:52

Wiggins's Sideburns
jiggle in the velodrome winds
Pendleton Howls curses at the moon

yellowraincoat · 03/08/2012 18:42

Jess Ennis so muscular
