What the jeff is going on?

Surely you've not resorted to putting great big advertisements in the middle of threads?

That's not just said to stir by the way. If fully understand that MN needs advertising to operate and indulge us in our requests. But if the ads go to the bottom they will be less attractive as fewer users will read all the way to the end of the thread. I know I often read the first few posts and then give up if it hasn't captured my imagination.

.

OhNoMyFanjo · 27/05/2012 10:52

But most of tge ads seem to be mn ones Confused

I have found a way to turn them off via my phone but will not post as likely to be deleted and don't want to real the wrath

HelenMumsnet · 25/05/2012 15:33

Thanks all for your feedback. Always appreciated. Smile

coldcomfortHeart · 25/05/2012 14:52

Thanks for the explanation and the move. it's this sort of human face to mn that I like so much. yay!

StealthPolarBear · 25/05/2012 10:43

Much better thanks for changing it mnhq

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 24/05/2012 23:35

I don't like the ads even at the bottom of the thread. Could they go under the reply box?

giraffesCantFitInThePalace · 24/05/2012 23:27

Not seen them but nice to see mnhq lisetening to views and explaining why changes have been made rather than just some stndard company message telling us to deal with it.

StateofConfusion · 24/05/2012 23:19

Thank you olivia, its not my thread just one I'm part of, if its mentioned there ill pass the message on but its not my place to request to move it.

--i thought it was in pregnancy loss hence my stressy pants--

OliviaLMumsnet · 24/05/2012 22:13

Hi StateofConfusion - we will move the thread if you report it, if that would be more appropriate.
Thanks
MNHQ

StateofConfusion · 24/05/2012 21:28

I've realised the thread I'm part of is in conception, had no idea I joined ages ago via active threads, that will be why.

Tee2072 · 24/05/2012 20:57

State, Justine said they have those sorts of areas restricted in what the ads are. Are you actually seeing Toys R Us ads on miscariage/ectopic/pregnancy/ttc. threads? If so, report the thread to MNHQ with your concerns.

StateofConfusion · 24/05/2012 20:52

Better at the bottom yes, but I'm slightly concerned by the huge babies r us add at the bottom of a thread for a huge group of people in between miscariage/ectopic/pregnancy/ttc.

If that had appeared in my face during a more fragile time it could have really upset me.

chocoroo · 24/05/2012 19:54

Bloody annoying. May force me to boycot.

AgentProvocateur · 24/05/2012 19:46

Far better at the bottom. Much appreciated.

Tee2072 · 24/05/2012 19:40

I agree 100% better at the bottom!

Thanks HQ!

Memoo · 24/05/2012 19:33

Definately miles better at the bottom. A good compromise.

CarpeJugulum · 24/05/2012 17:51

I like streams of consciousness...

But agree with Wine o'clock!

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 24/05/2012 17:51

Much, much better at the bottom. Thankyou :-)

usualsuspect · 24/05/2012 17:50

My BB still loaded ok , I was just a bit confused for a while when the ad loomed out at me

DiscoDaisy · 24/05/2012 17:50

Much better down the bottom. I can ignore it down there!

McKayz · 24/05/2012 17:50

Justine that looks much much better. Thank you.

Get0rfMoiLand · 24/05/2012 17:49

It was rather a stream of consciousness...Grin
