Are there still moderators on this site? If there are, are they employed direct by Mumsnet or are they members that volunteer themselves for the role? How do you become a moderator on this site?

Chaos- you advertising your age again?

ChaosTrulyReigns71 · 09/04/2012 21:01

OliviaL.

I think you need numbers in your name.

All the cool kidz are doing it. Hmm

KatieMiddleton · 09/04/2012 20:59

I think they're busy working on it. Better something really good than a rush job. In the mean time there's always the report button on iffy listings Smile

themarriageplot · 09/04/2012 20:54

I thought extra effort was going to go into the local boards. Our opinions were canvassed. It's all gone quiet since then. Sad

KatieMiddleton · 09/04/2012 20:40

Not on my local board! Grin We have an excellent Tsarina who looks after local threads. My beef is with the event listings that appear in the bottom right corner. I have to say Richmond's have been excellent for the last couple of months once all the ads and general crap was removed. They are now useful.

Bohica · 09/04/2012 20:34

I am a mod.

Please do PM any gossip concerns and I will inform others look into it for you.

dearprudence · 09/04/2012 20:31

Katie is that really what it's like on the local boards?

SecretNutellaFix · 09/04/2012 20:26

Olivia.

Are you original Olivia, or are you a new Olivia?

I've just noticed an L in your name.

OliviaLMumsnet · 09/04/2012 20:20

No way José.
Grin

SecretNutellaFix · 09/04/2012 20:20

Tee, I think they did!!Shock

KatieMiddleton · 09/04/2012 20:19

I would happily mod the local boards. I would take great delight in deleting all the ads and messaging the perps things like "did you not realise your spam is extremely irritating to the good folk of MN?" and "you're very welcome to post your ad. That'll be £50 please!" and "you can sod off with you're 3 year long event that is not even an event - you cheapo chancer!"

I suspect this is why I would not be allowed...

I'd hate to be a moderator but I'd love to be a Topic Tidier. Is that a job?

PaquesJeLeVauxBien · 09/04/2012 20:04

You only do it for the Kevlar vests, Olivia. Pervert.

OliviaLMumsnet · 09/04/2012 20:03

@RebeccaMumsnet

Hi EJW12345

Mumsnet is self policing so Mumsnetters report posts/posters to us and we have a look.

There is a community team at MNHQ who post on the boards but we aren't what is normally considered 'moderators'

No, we're MI5. Grin

PaquesJeLeVauxBien · 09/04/2012 18:11

We're all moderators.

Didn't you get your badge when you registered?

bronze · 09/04/2012 18:09

Must have been in the first couple of years. I started lurking in 2002 and I don't remember them. Having said that a lot seems to just pass me by

themarriageplot · 09/04/2012 17:56

People who can name a current poster who used to be a mod should be given a "get out of troll hunt free" card. Troll hunters should immediately call off their dogs if a former mod is named.

I can name some. Grin

CanCant · 09/04/2012 17:53

Marina was a mod.
Perhaps rusybear too? Can't remember...

Tee2072 · 09/04/2012 17:42

I used to mod another message board. It was hell.

Love having no mods.

themarriageplot · 09/04/2012 17:41

In the old days.

bronze · 09/04/2012 17:40

Cancant when?

Originalplurker · 09/04/2012 17:39

A cummunity team...

Bucharest · 09/04/2012 17:36

Did you think you'd logged onto Babycentre OP?

They have moderators. Several of whom are the reason I left.

CanCant · 09/04/2012 17:35

We used to have mods... back in the mists of time.
