Hi Rowan. We are having a lovely chat. Come and join us Smile.

LRD, that's the problem with the feminist boards. You only need the odd poster for a thread to go arseways.

hathorinareddress69 · 11/04/2012 21:11

Can I tell you all about getting back with DP now?

I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy could be the wine

Or else you can all help me sext him and shock him half to death

FrankWippery · 11/04/2012 21:10

Evenin' Rowan. If you can make sense of anything on this thread you are a very very clever woman Grin

RUN!

LRDtheFeministDragon · 11/04/2012 21:09

Um ... no, I shouldn't think I had, maryz. Confused

I have never seen anyone except trolls come out with the 'all men are rapists' line. But I think the problem is that - as will all sections - it's quite hard to spot a troll unless you're there a lot. So the bastards come in and stir threads up so that genuine posters end up at each others' throads. It's really shit.

RowanMumsnet · 11/04/2012 21:09

Oi oi you lot

To be fair, LRD, I don't think you've ever called me a rape apologist Smile. And I have learned a lot by lurking on the feminist threads.

I do avoid the "sex" ones though, 'cos they get nasty and I get confused. Because they do get really polarised really quickly whereas some of them could be interesting debates (once someone says "all men are rapists" I sort of turn off a bit).

If TSC wears lip gloss and a pinny then I am the Queen Fucking Mother, Beer. Grin

LRDtheFeministDragon · 11/04/2012 20:59

GetOrf - I smelt flattery, you know?

No - I have been around under DoomCatsofCognitiveDissonance (and not posting much).

It is very pleasant to see you too, as ever. Smile

Pinot · 11/04/2012 20:59

Maryz in all seriousness I could have written every word of that post ^. Sooo how I feel too.

My Nan once said to me "Sometimes love is a decision, not a feeling". I so understand what she means.

But I think I'm way out of touch with what others think about stuff so stay out of it.

I am amazed that the Moron of the Month hasn't made an appearance on this thread, there are loads of MN regs on here which she usually tries to ingratiate herself with.

You flatter me .... my paypal account is emptying rapidly ...

MaryzInfinityToPowerOfInfinity · 11/04/2012 20:55

Yes, the Menz threads really shocked me too Sad.

The relationships board makes me wonder whether I am really living in a bubble, or whether all my friends' husbands are really sleeping around/carrying spare mobiles/thumping them/controlling the money etc. But I don't think they are Confused.

I do think, though, that if I posted about some of the things dh does (the amount of time he spends on his own interests, how little he is at home, how bad he is at "listening" to me moan), I could put a spin on him that would make everyone shout "leave the bastard". But in reality, we have a very good relationship, and have learned an awful lot of give and take (both ways) over the years.

GetOrfMoiLand78 · 11/04/2012 20:55

Where did you spring from LRD? Grin

I haven't just mentioned you because you are on this thread btw.

I really like feminism - some really good eggs on there like LRD and SGM. I like the debates to be had.

I don't believe most of the threads on relationships, which is bollocks because I have personally recieved loads of help from people on that board. But I can't be drawn into the endless streams of invented shit which I assume are written by ghastly amateur literary types.

I haven't hid any topics though, I just wander around looking at all sorts of shit like breastfeeding and childminders.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 11/04/2012 20:53

Is that not your usual line, AF?

I can cope with 'he's just a man' on AIBU but in Relationships it all feels a bit more serious and invested.
