QuintessentialyHollow - Wow, I didn't know about the car topic, thank you!

bleedinobviouslike · 26/02/2012 00:51

a like button for posts
a facility to edit and delete own posts
a facility to click on posters name and their threads come up in a list

I second (or fourth or whatever?) keeping the OP's posts highlighted even if they namechange - and the one about being able to see the thread (or at least the last bit) while previewing your post, so you can remember what you were replying to.

Also think it would be a good idea if posting on a thread created a bookmark at your post, or alternatively an option to read from your last post as someone suggested.

And Grin at Chaos's alopogies!

QuintessentialyHollow · 25/02/2012 21:14

There is a CAR topic.

I (me, MOI) lobbied RALLY hard to get one!

ZuzuBailey · 25/02/2012 21:08

I'd like a car topic please. At the moment most car-related posts are in chat and then disappear. I think it would be helpful to be able to refer back to solutions to car problems.

And an edit post option, but no quoting - it takes up too much space.

S'alright took it as an accurate observation rather than insult Wink

Honeydragon · 25/02/2012 20:34

Brilliant idea!

Another good thing would be a contact address, for MNHQ to keep for times when intervention is necessary, ie desperate members needing urgent help/assistance. Ok maybe that's going a bit ott but at times I wish it was a facility.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 25/02/2012 20:32

Alopogies Honeyd.

I think we should be remunerated for each word that we post as gratitude for us making MN what is hactually is.

second the flowers, possibly the bear, although I do like real bears. Definitely use of tick button for 'hiding' threads would be great, I get really arsey everytime I hide a thread and then it refreshes the page. I would like a choice of using avatar or not. Surely you could have 'disable avatars' if you didn't want to see them. I'm sure I would recognise more posters if we had that facility. Btw I don't mean tickers or any of that shite, just a simple avatar.

dearprudence · 25/02/2012 20:21

Quoting would make the threads a real mess, IMO. I've been on forums where there is quoting, and you just lose the gist of the conversation.

Copy and paste works just as well IMO.

View thread from last read post or from last post from you option.

PutThatCatOutNow · 25/02/2012 20:12

Usernames expiring every 6 months - year so as to prevent there being such an obvious heirachy of well know posters and newbies.
Not that I am a bitter unknown newbie or anything Wink

Bunbaker · 25/02/2012 20:07

Why no quoting dearprudence. If it is a long thread and someone is replying to an earlier post it makes more sense.
