Because there are so many. And they are so unpleasant.

Pretty please...

No No Katie, if you block politics then they don't appear in active convos. It is so lovely.
You can still go into politics via the topics section but if you don't .......

[happy sigh]

Even if you have politics hidden you can still see those threads in most active and you can get in off the topics list and if you have posted on a thread it'll still be in your threads I'm on.

So come over to the van. Pinot's doing G&Ts.

Sevenfold · 27/01/2012 18:57

ok have reported them.
shame that polotics will now become a bigots home

KatieMiddleton · 27/01/2012 18:51

thread? topic.

Arse it.

KatieMiddleton · 27/01/2012 18:50

Bugger. I quite like the politics thread. You better all check your threads I'm on regularly and keep coming to the "down with this sort of thing" burger van. Until this has all calmed down at it's safe to venture to active convos again.

Shirl and others have been doing an excellent job of posting links to nice non-bb threads.

HelenMumsnet · 27/01/2012 18:43

@Sevenfold

it has been moved now but still have this one

and this one

Please report them, Sevenfold, if you haven't already. Tis much easier for us that way.

Pagwatch · 27/01/2012 17:57

What are you pointing at Helenmumsnet? Do I have something on my face ?

I was agreeing with your suggestion to move them. Am I being thick?

Actually don't answer that.

Yes move all of them to politics. Don't let them urinate

OP posts:
HelenMumsnet · 27/01/2012 17:54

@FoofFighter

yy to politics thank you Heken

Just to clarify, we'll move them to Politics/In the News if that's where they clearly belong - ie the OP has clearly started them in the wrong topic.
Do report to us any threads that fit the bill...

FoofFighter · 27/01/2012 17:51

yy to politics thank you Heken

HelenMumsnet · 27/01/2012 17:50

[quote Pagwatch]Yes yes.
Putting them all in politics would help.

I could just hide it for a while

yellowraincoat · 27/01/2012 17:48

I'm so sick of benefits threads.

Why can't people just be PLEASANT?

Pagwatch · 27/01/2012 17:45

Catalie

No where have I said I want one particular viewpoint stifled.

The fact that the threads become unpleasant is just fact. I attribute no blame for that. There are just lots and list of them and they are all bunfights.

Assuming that I have a particular point of view because I don't like a proliferation of bunfights threads is a bit of a leap.

I wanted all the McCann threads combined. And the Christmas ones. I am nit particularly strident in my views about Santa or tinsel

Can i also add that it isn't stifling debate to put all discussion into one thread.

I wasn't suggesting that only one side of the debate were put in one area. I just think it is practical to have one thread. Whoever clicks on that thread can say what they like, within the guidelines of course . It just isn't swamping the whole board.

I was only joking with my 'kettle them and don't let them urinate'
