are we allowed to carry on discussing this?

OP posts:

Now, about those feminists...

GrimmaTheNome · 10/11/2011 10:00

OK, lets move on. No point with any more 'buts'.

Good thing about the permanent content, its been asked for for a long time.

Could I make a suggestion - to mark a fresh start and hopefully encourage the more constructive tone that I think most of us want how about renaming the Doghouse? How about something cosier like the Dogbasket?

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 10/11/2011 10:00

Thank you for letting us know what has been decided.

Hi all,
We've given it a lot of thought and feel it would be best, on balance, not to rescind DBF's ban.

We do appreciate that her admirable passion to protect dogs' welfare lies behind her posting style but however passionate, we do ask members to refrain from personal attacks. It's one of our few rules but despite many deletions, several warnings and a previous ban DBF seems unable/unwilling to follow it.

The Doghouse needs to be a place where everyone - however naive or misguided their ideas about dog-ownership - can come to receive support and advice, without being pounced on. Our aim is to make parents' lives easier and that can only be achieved if people refrain from personally attacking other posters. We'd be grateful if you'd report any examples of personal attacks as we will delete them and suspend the membership of any members who repeatedly make them.

We will be creating some permanent content (based on lots of your wisdom) around issues of dog ownership and breeding that come up so frequently.

Thanks everyone for your input - it's not been easy but we think it was important discussion to have.

I have tweeted MNHQ to ask them to move the CANADIAN thread to classics.

I just love the condescending tone that the OP uses to ask SGM if she has ever been to Canada. You can "hear" it clearly.

Grin and now, i'm going to think of her every time i see a molson beer ad. Grin
ChippingInNeedsSleep · 10/11/2011 01:37

Madwoman - if you think it's funny reading it now, you'd have been wetting yourself if you'd be on it at the time. It was just so bloody frustrating and the OP so bloody dim!! SGM was an absolute star and her line I AM CANADIAN finished me off!

madwomanintheattic · 10/11/2011 00:29

that thread is hilarious - i've never seen it before. and now i'm really worried that the op changed her mind and is coming to alberta instead... Shock

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 10/11/2011 00:08

SGM - you'll be pleased/surprised/completely unbothered to know that I still get a chuckle from time to time when I AM CANADIAN pops into my mind :)

I have a couple of reasons why I get put into a position of having to say 'I am british' and sometimes struggle to keep a straight face because it reminds me of that thread!

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 09/11/2011 22:53

And now I'm back Smile

GoodMorningMorons · 09/11/2011 22:52

Changed it anyway, just for this once Grin

You never know when it might come in handy.

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 09/11/2011 22:47

If I hadn't gotten so fond of my username I would be changing it right now, to GoodMorningMorons.

ColdSancerre · 09/11/2011 22:09

Omfg I just read the Canadian thread. Priceless. What a dim bitch.

I had my name banned once. mN towers told me it was un suitable and I had to get a new one.

GrimmaTheNome · 09/11/2011 21:14

That thread is 26 pages long... do we have to read the whole damn thing to get it or can someone tell us roughly where to start to get the best of SGMs tantrum?

GrimmaTheNome · 09/11/2011 21:11

I know this was way down the thread (or up, depending on your view) but I have the answer:

As an aside, can you be gruntled. I know you can be disgruntled because I am a lot but can you be gruntled

I discovered what 'gruntled' means when I aquired my current dog. Its the particularly happy, satisfied noise made by a dog who has been allowed to snuggle into bed with you in the morning.

Still in AIBU, still makes me chuckle.
Hope I've linked it correctly Smile
