DBF BANNING THREAD: 3

are we allowed to carry on discussing this?

OP posts:
TheRhubarb · 10/11/2011 13:52

chipping - you mean Hully's pulled thread? It wasn't about this topic but a lighthearted one on permanent statement suggestions on thread topics such as AIBU. I think MNHQ anticipated a bunfight so they pulled it.

Would someone care to PM me a link to The Other Forum please?

BecauseImWorthIt · 10/11/2011 13:50

Others may have said far worse - and possibly they were warned about it at the time. DBF was on her last warning though. What is it about that that is so difficult to grasp?

And plenty of crowing and slagging off of MN and MNetters on The Other Forum.

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 10/11/2011 13:43

If anyone can be bothered - I'd love a PM re the pulled thread Grin

GrimmaTheNome · 10/11/2011 13:40

Where elsewhere, Molly - I'd not noticed. (though maybe I don't really want to know...)

MollyTheMole · 10/11/2011 13:40

dong dong? Ding dong I mean of course

MollyTheMole · 10/11/2011 13:38

its great to see that already the crowing and piss taking is going on elsewhere, might aswell have "dong dong the witch is dead" playing in the background to accompany the childish posts.

pathetic

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 10/11/2011 13:36

ToysRUs xmas ad, Hull Shock

It's disgusting. I am shocked, horrified, offended and all matter of other synonyms about it. I may start an AIBU fred!

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 10/11/2011 13:35

BeerTricksPotter - pretty crap isn't it. DBF gets banned for a very mild retort to someone deliberately stiring trouble, yet loads of posts remain calling her all kinds of things... Hmm

What DBF said in that post was mild, nothing to get your knickers in a knot over, others said far worse, but because it's DBF she gets banned.

BecauseImWorthIt · 10/11/2011 13:33

I think Hully's PARD campaign is finally beginning to pay off! Which is not a bad thing at all.

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 10/11/2011 13:30

I'm very disappointed in that decision Justine.

Afternoon, Pinot Smile

Justine

Thank you very much for informing us of your decision.

I think on the whole, maybe the whole debacle has done some good. I have already noticed posters who wouldn't usually say to another "oi, that's a bit out of order" or "that's a bit distasteful, I'm reporting your post" which I think can only be a good thing.

I'm not saying that the site should become full of 'snitchers' or people who are offended 'for the sake' of being offended (iyswim) but if it means that people put a little more thought into what they type before posting to consider how the op or others may feel, isn't that a good thing ?

As you mentioned in another thread, none of us really know what others have going on in their life, and what may seem silly or irrelevant to us, can be life-changing for others.

I know that because of my 'nod from HQ' Wink, I have hesitated before I posted in the past couple of days, because I don't genuinely want to offend or upset anyone. I came on here for a bit of light relief, and have been astounded at the support offered, over such a range of topics. I guess it doesn't hurt us to stop and think sometimes, "how would I feel if that were me ?"

Hullygully · 10/11/2011 13:22

I'm surprised as well at the lack of gratitude. I did it for them, after all.

GrimmaTheNome · 10/11/2011 13:20

Buns is one things, quiche is another - that could get messy.

Honeydragon · 10/11/2011 13:18

this thread is getting dangerously close to spawning a Mnet freedom fighters quiche

Hullygully · 10/11/2011 13:14

you what love?

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 10/11/2011 13:13

Has anyone seen that there are no longer "millions of Jefferies" by the way? Shock

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 10/11/2011 13:13

Surely all AIBU/feminazi(Wink)/relationship threads have the "potential" to become bunfights....?

DELETE THEM ALL!!
dont please, or I'd have to do the (shock horror) housework!

bibbitybobbitybloodyaxe · 10/11/2011 13:12

Oh tits! I'd have loved to have seen that.

Hullygully · 10/11/2011 13:08

It wasn't a bunfight, it was the potential I think that concerned them.

It was that Beyond's fault.

GrimmaTheNome · 10/11/2011 13:07

So was it a bunfight with nice soft iced buns or was it more like rock cakes?

GrimmaTheNome · 10/11/2011 13:06

Well that'll teach me to ask for a link, have lunch and then do some actual work before checking back. Humph.

TheRhubarb · 10/11/2011 12:58

Hey Hully, since you had your thread pulled does that mean you're on a warning? Oooooooooh! Hully's in trouble! Hully's in trouble!

Hullygully · 10/11/2011 12:48

It wasn't not nice though not yet
