DBF BANNING THREAD: 3

are we allowed to carry on discussing this?

OP posts:
silverfrog · 10/11/2011 14:40

I do understand that posts need ot be reported to MNHQ, BIWI, but I do think that more consistency of deletion is needed.

I wrote an example on the last thread - I go deleted for telling aposter to fuck off, after they had delightfully told me they wished that dd2 came to harm form my decision to not vaccinate her.

I think that posters shoudl stand by what they type, and as such do not tend ot report posts (other than obvious trolling). my post got reported, and I got deleted - the original charming post was left to stand.

surely, if a post is reported then MNHQ should read the context, and decide on that?

(I do not agree, btw, that telling someone to fuck off is a personal attack)

otherwise, you can end up with some very one-sided deletions, where the original provocations are left ot stand (because no one reports them) but the retaliations are deleted (as someone takes offence at one side of the argument)

Rhubarb as I said on the other thread, I'm on the other forum but I am not slagging anyone off here or elsewhere. The internet is a very big place surely there's room for everyone?

And as far as I can see, I'm not banned, but if MNHQ see fit to ban anyone for joining another forum then that's ridiculous. (and I don't think they would fwiw)

ColdSancerre · 10/11/2011 14:36

Oh I have that forum in my history on my phone, will PM you Molly.

BecauseImWorthIt · 10/11/2011 14:33

I think the key thing is that if you see someone being rude, attacking other posters, etc, then you have to report it to MNHQ. They do not moderate this site, which means there isn't someone reading every thread. Therefore it is actually pretty unfair to accuse them of inconsistency.

Where talk guidelines are being breached they will act, but only if their attention has been drawn to it.

TheRhubarb · 10/11/2011 14:33

Yup, I'm a nosey cow and apparently there is a public forum of banned bearing a grudge mumsnetters who take delight in slagging off other not banned mumsnetters and mumsnet in general. So I just want a gander through to see what they are all saying about us.

fluffystabby · 10/11/2011 14:32

Justine

Is this policy going to be applied fairly and consistently across the boards from now on? Because there are a number of members who feel (and I am one of them) that it hasn't been up to now, and I for one would like to be reassured that there will be a fair and consistent policy from now on.

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 10/11/2011 14:30

Rhubarb - I see, thank you :)

MollyTheMole · 10/11/2011 14:26

TheRhubarb · 10/11/2011 14:22

It was the first thing that came to hand Moley Grin

Deal by the way!

MollyTheMole · 10/11/2011 14:21

Goldfish bowl Rhubarb? Taking the piss are you?

Look we can join forces, if I get a PM I'll send it to you and if you get it send it to me, deal or no deal?

Grimma - you just beat me to it! I have seen the OP around alot but was still a bit Hmm at the timing of it...

TheRhubarb · 10/11/2011 14:15

WHERE'S MY PM???????????

GrimmaTheNome · 10/11/2011 14:15

I just found the freecycle one - I think it was just a regular poster bringing it to our attention, but I reported anyway so MNHQ can decide if it is going awry.

MollyTheMole · 10/11/2011 14:07

and its not a freecycle ad as such, its been c & pd, have just asked the OP if its been posted to promote the ad or to get agreement that using Freecycle for this is not on

MollyTheMole · 10/11/2011 14:06
MollyTheMole · 10/11/2011 14:05

Grimma, no it wasnt you, the one i mean was further up the thread, your post was lovely and just how the doghouse is/was/will be

TheRhubarb · 10/11/2011 14:00

I was here first!

GrimmaTheNome · 10/11/2011 14:00

er Molly ... I think the fish thing was me and the last thing it was meant to be was piss taking of anything except the misconception that the doghouse is a scary place. Maybe I got it wrong and it didn't come over how I meant Sad

If there's a freecycle ad in doghouse - is someone dealing with it appropriately?

MollyTheMole · 10/11/2011 13:56

BIWI - I havent seen the other forum

Can someone PM me a link?

GrimmaTheNome · 10/11/2011 13:56

Narky - the next one who persistently oversteps the mark I'd imagine, regardless of who they are.

I'm disappointed by DBF being banned at this point, but I think I'd rather move on than carry on gnawing at it.

MollyTheMole · 10/11/2011 13:54

Grimma, some sarcastic comment in AIBU about imagining if a post was in the Doghouse instead of there, another one hiliariously Hmm parodying how someone might respond in the doghouse to a question about someones fish being unwell and believe it or not there is something in the doghouse promoting a freecycle ad for a dog free to a good home

MildlyNarkyPuffin · 10/11/2011 13:53

Who's going to be next MN?
