To clear up the stupidly long topic list, and get everything down to ten topics....

LeBOF · 03/11/2011 12:03

Can it be done?

Can you come up with a list of ten topics which would cover everything (ie not just your favourite stuff)? You are allowed a sensible number of subtopics, say four or so).

My suggestion would be:

Pregnancy (you'd have to subdivide to cover TTC, antenatal choices, testing etc)

Children

Education

Special Needs

Relationships

Chat

Hobbies (includes Telly addicts and Pets, maybe camping etc)

Products (selling and reviewing thereof, style and beauty)

Politics (current affairs, feminism etc)

Food

Er, is that everything? Can you do better?

Thanks rustybear.

Only been here four years and didn't know about the alphabetical list Blush

Seriously MNHQ, why on earth would you put sport and exercise in fun and games over body and soul? Who said exercise is fun? Confused

Memoo · 04/11/2011 21:16
  • Aibu

  • bumsex

  • everything else

RustyBear · 04/11/2011 21:12

Oh, and if you do want to find it in the subject list, it's under 'Fun and Games' but to see it you either need to click on 'more' at the end of the list after Fun and Games, or on the Show All link on the blue bar next to Topics A-Z

RustyBear · 04/11/2011 21:07

Benandholly - on the right hand side of the blue bar just above the list of topics is a link 'Topics A-Z Click on that and you get all the topics in alphabetical order. croll down, past the interminable list of Mumsnet local (which, since we're on the subject of change, really ought to be accessed on a subpage by clicking on Mumsnet local) and you'll find Sport and Exercise among the Ss.

Oh and it would be really nice if we could make the Topic list stay alphabetical if we wanted to....

benandhollyandgaston · 04/11/2011 20:57

Slightly off topic, but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD can someone please tell me how to find the sport and exercise topic off the main topic list?

Tried to post something the other day and looked through (I think) body and soul, health, in the club and a few others and in the end had to resort to waiting for a post to pop up in active conversations so I could link to it.

AKMD · 04/11/2011 20:54

Yes please. There are solo many topics I feel like if I dare venture into some of the more obscure ones I'll find S&M or jam-jar glasses-wearing chess players.

Pinot · 04/11/2011 09:40

I agree.

Really, why don't they just do it.

Gimme the HQ 'puter and I'll do it!

GetOrfMo1Land · 03/11/2011 17:52

I don't mean it Oliviaaaaaaaa.

I love MNHQ. LOVE YOU. You laughed at the floral fuck offs.

Tee2072 · 03/11/2011 17:38

Can we cut down the topic list? Can we cut down the topic list? Can we cut down the topic list? Can we cut down the topic list? Can we cut down the topic list? Can we cut down the topic list? Can we cut down the topic list? Can we cut down the topic list? Can we cut down the topic list? Can we cut down the topic list? Can we cut down the topic list? Can we cut down the topic list? Can we cut down the topic list? Can we cut down the topic list? Can we cut down the topic list? Can we cut down the topic list?

Ooooh - GOML - careful or that Olivia might ban you!

OliviaMumsnet · 03/11/2011 17:33

@GetOrfMo1Land

Keep up the pressure, if we bore them to death about the subject they might do something about it to shut us up.
Greythorne · 03/11/2011 17:16

I wish there was a topic devoted to: 'I have lost my mobile / purse / wedding ring / toddler's special toy, any ideas where it could be' as those threads have got to be the most pointless ever.

GetOrfMo1Land · 03/11/2011 17:07

Yes - I totally agree BoF - the topic list is tooooo long.

I had a mini-rant about this last week. MNHQ have promised to 'look at it'

Keep up the pressure, if we bore them to death about the subject they might do something about it to shut us up.

I promised to do stuff with a spreadsheet but got bored forgot.

ConstanceNoring · 03/11/2011 12:35

What? They'll never agree to that, Reg.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 03/11/2011 12:34

Yes there should be a Random Bollocks thread for stuff like

Square poo
Twisluts
Wolefs
Nobdies
OMG-there-is-a-mouse/spider/snake/kangeroo-in-my-kitchen/bedroom/loo/cereal threads

Chandon · 03/11/2011 12:32

The Bad Mum Site used to have a "F%ck Sh%t B%llocks" topic which was great for letting off steam.

Tee2072 · 03/11/2011 12:27

Grin Trills.

  1. AIBU. Cuz MNHQ will never drop it, IMHO.
LeBOF · 03/11/2011 12:16

Hmm. You might have a point there.

BOF

When you go

"Hey I'll start a thread on this!"

It might, possibly be a good idea to invest more than 11.2 seconds of thought into it before posting Grin
This is why Mom HQ doesn't take us seriously.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 03/11/2011 12:13

Yeah.

And hide several threads at once option.
